5 Things To Do In East London

October 4, 2018

If you have ever found yourself in East London with a few hours to kill but didn’t quite know what to do with yourself in the area, then here are 5 things to do in East London.

You can’t miss Boxpark in Shoreditch with its shipping containers which hold unique and boutique stores, cafes and bars. If you love your chips as much as me then you have to try Poptata, serving up chips with toppings and the best cheesy fries. For shopping, explore in and out of the containers as you just never know what gems you’ll find. My favourite stores are The Gift Box and Deciem (tip there is always a queue for the Covent Garden store so head here).

Barber & Parlour is part of the Soho House group and you will find it just opposite Boxpark on Redchurch Street. Upstairs is the Soho House showroom, where you can shop the furniture and interiors used at Soho House. Downstairs is a casual restaurant and bar to stop off for a bite to eat or drink and if you have a couple of hours they also have a cinema, Electric Cinema shows a mixture of classics and mainstream movies with comfy sofa seats.

You can’t walk past Vida Bakery on Brick Lane without noticing the beautiful cakes and it was the rainbow cake in particular that led me in to discover tasty cakes and the cutest crockery. They offer a selection of cakes and cupcakes which are all gluten, vegan and dairy-free. I mean it’s cake what more can I say? Drool over them on their Instagram here.

Old Spitalfields Market is open seven days a week and there is plenty to do. As well as stalls full of clothes, there are the main shops surrounding the market, including Rag & Bone, Hackett and MAC. There is also a new Duck & Dry so stop off for a blow-dry, a window shop or have a bite to eat at one of the restaurants. You have places like Yum Bun, Wagamamas and Blixen, which has a cocktail bar downstairs called Bar Three.

What better way to kill a few hours than enjoy a bowl of cereal? At the Cereal Killer Cafe there are so many options, choose from favourites and classics or opt for fun cereals from abroad. Choose one of their mixes or . create your own. If Coco Pops cereal milk cappuccinos and cereal milkshakes are your thing then you have to check out the cafe.
