My Noughty Little Secret

September 27, 2018

I have to admit when it comes to looking after my hair, I have a whole drawer full of shampoos, conditioners and treatments but sometimes it gets a little neglected. In my head I plan to use a deep conditioning treatment once a week, but do I? Probably not. So it was time to really pay attention to my hair and give it the same amount of care I do my skin.

Noughty hair products couldn’t have come at a better time, they have no parabens, sulphates, silicones or petrochemicals and Noughty is 97% natural, as well as being vegan and cruelty-free. The last time I had my hair coloured I made a conscious effort to use only sulphate free, not only to protect my colour but also the condition of my hair. However I always find myself constantly trying out new hair products and my routine takes a tumble. So when I heard about the Noughty range I was excited to try them and get my hair back on track.

Noughty Pumped Up Volumising Shampoo & Conditioner

My hair is fine and lacks volume, which is why I tend to wear it with a wave rather than straight or it can be quite limp. Noughty Pumped Up Volumising Shampoo & Conditioner first of all smells so damn good, that it is a joy to use in the shower. It has a passionfruit and hibiscus fragrance and smells lovely and fruity. It has an oil-free formula so it moisturises but doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy. Vitamin B5 penetrates the cuticle to plump the shaft and create volume as well as add hydration. The shampoo has red grape extract which is known for its protective antioxidants and mangosteen extract for hydration and soothing. The conditioner has the added benefits of fig extract which is rich in magnesium and Vitamins C and E and damask rose extract for hydration.

As you can see these ingredients wouldn’t be unusual in many a skincare product, so for me I feel like I’m really looking after my hair the more I use it. I loved the volume these gave my hair, for once I didn’t have to use a sticky powder volume product in my roots.

Noughty To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment

This a deeply hydrating moisture mask and has sweet almond oil and black oat extract. Designed for frizzy and damaged hair, it brings hair back to life by injecting moisture into it and giving a smooth appearance. I enjoyed using this mask and I like the idea of the natural ingredients such as meadowfoam oil which is rich in fatty acids to trap moisture and argan oil to increase hair’s elasticity.

Noughty Rise and Shine Hydrate and Shine Serum

I applied this serum to my hair when it was damp just before drying and it gave my hair heat protection from my styling tools (up to 220C), added shine and made it all round easier to dry as it smoothed it out. My hair afterwards looked shiny and soft to touch, this was from the jojoba oil which helps deliver a gloss and the kalahari melon oil for moisture.

A friend of mine has curly hair and been raving about Noughty recently. I really need to give it a try as my hair is feeling very damaged and unloved since having a baby earlier this year. And it’s currently buy one get one half price in Ocado – I think if there’s ever been a sign I need to do something it’s this!
