I think I am one of the few people who hadn’t been to Burger & Lobster yet, however last night this situation was rectified.
At Dean Street in Soho I ventured into the world of Burger & Lobster. Never having tried lobster before it was pretty obvious what I was going to be having to eat, that would be the burger!
The restaurant is one of these places that you can’t book a table, we were told it would be an hour and a half wait,so we decided to perch up at the bar and see what cocktails they had to offer. I had a delicious mint one, I can’t quite remember the name but it was a really refreshing choice before my meal. We were shown to our table just half an hour after we got there so I was really happy the wait wasn’t as long as we were told.
Now one thing I found bizarre was there was no menus, so we had to ask the waitress what was on offer. We then found out we had three choices, burger complete with bacon and cheese, chips and salad. Lobster rolls or actual lobster which came in various sizes. My friend opted for the 1lb which came complete with chips and salad too. The table across from us had ordered the biggest lobster I pretty much have ever seen! The waitress said its very popular especially on a Sunday for families to order a large lobster and share it.
With my bib on I tackled the burger and it was really delicious, I even tried some lobster, so I no longer am a lobster virgin as weird as that sounds!
We also got to venture into where the lobster tank was. The lovely waitress was telling us all about them and terrifyingly decided to make me hold one. All their claws are clipped together but they are still quite crazy creatures. Out of the water they stay alive for 24 hours, which is a great little fact for you!
Dessert we shared a chocolate mousse pot with chocolate cornflakes, it was great but surely a plate would have been nice?
At £20 for each choice its a pretty great deal for lobster, but as there was no menu I also found out my burger was £20 at the end of the meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger, but not sure this is a worthy price point compared to somewhere like Dirty Burger.
So if you love lobster it’s a definite must!
