Victoria Beckham held her runway show at New York Fashion Week yesterday and it has definitely been one of my favourites so far from Fashion Week. Not only was Anna Wintour and David Beckham on the front row, but little Harper Beckham stole the limelight sitting on David’s lap, so cute.
The clothes meanwhile took a different turn for Victoria, instead of the tight bodycon dresses we know VB for, she opted for more casual and flowing lines with a boy-meets-girl style. These included slouchy cropped trousers, flirty tennis pleated skirts- one of my personal favourites and a buttonless round-shouldered blazer with slight cocooning sleeves.
Victoria spoke of the collection:
“It’s that boy meets girl thing. I still love a fitted dress but then there’s the other side of me that wants to feel a little but more at ease, a little bit more relaxed. But still sharp.”
There was also a hint of fuchsia in some beautiful pieces, with the key equilateral triangle at the forefront, which was heat bonded onto organza tops and teamed with thick white belts. Alongside the black, greys and whites, Victoria added accents of Bordeaux to the collection.
