I am very excited to share this new beauty gadget with you from Silk’n. As you may have seen I joined Silk’n backstage at London Fashion Week with Holly Fulton, where the models were getting to grips with some of their products. Luckily I also got hold of the Silk’n Silhouette to try! The Silhouette is a body contouring system which helps to reduce cellulite, firm skin and contour parts of your body such as tummy and hips. Sounds pretty great right?
The best thing about the Silk’n Silhouette is that you can use it at home, when you need to and when you can. This is what I love about home beauty gadgets, they save trips to the salon, no faffing about, just use them when you want to or can fit into your routine.
So how does the Silk’n Silhouette work?
Using revolutionary HT technology which combines Bi-Polar RF Energy, LED Light Energy and IR Heat Energy it firms the deeper layers of the skin, tightens loose skin, reduces cellulite, improves skin texture and elasticity and therefore streamlines body contours. It tackles cellulite by targeting the fat layer under the epidermis. These fat cells known as adipocytes store surplus nutrients in the form of fat and increase in volume, causing the ‘clump’ effect which in turns creates that bumpy effect us women get, otherwise known as cellulite.
How do you use it?
The gadget comes with Silk’n gel which you apply to the problem areas, so for me I used it on the back of my legs, tummy and hips and then the Silhouette has three different settings; Low, Medium & High. Following the guide that comes with it, you can work on each part of the body for the guided time and setting. So for the belly, you would rub the gel on then set the Silhouette to low and glide it across following the arrows in the guide for 5 minutes. You would do this for the first few uses and then work up to the medium and high settings, which would enable you to glide it across from left to right for 6-15 minutes. It suggests to use it twice a week for 10 weeks before you will see results. It also has a thermal sensor so the device can’t overheat
How did I find it?
It was really easy to use and get to grips with. I was a bit confused about the energy levels at first but once I worked out what I was doing, I got in a routine and have been using it continuously. It’s obviously not going to make you lose weight, so you still need to exercise, but it will however help you to tone those areas. I’ve not been doing it for even near 10 weeks yet so I’ll have to update you on the results which I can’t wait to see!
The Silk’n Silhouette will be available very soon, I don’t have an exact launch date yet but no doubt it will be in time for Christmas. Watch my video below to see it in action and also another handy gadget from Silk’n, the Silk’n Glide home IPL for hair removal, the perfect Christmas presents for beauty lovers!
