You know those women on the tube that wear running trainers with their work clothes for comfort? I bet they don’t know how on trend they really are. The running trainers trend has been popular amongst bloggers for a while now, anywhere you look there is a pair of Nike New Balance popping up and it is still going strong. Admittedly I’ve never been keen on the trend, I mean I only bought my first pair of trainers ever this year, can you believe it? Of course that’s barring aside the Spice Girl platform ones of yore, but after scoping out some fantastic bloggers who rock it so well, I’m becoming quite easily persuaded.
Here are some of my favourite looks…
Gwen from This Fashion Is Mine puts together an effortless winter look with her Nike running trainers, she says of the style:
“Nothing thrills me more than the idea of wearing plain & basic trainers as a fashion statement. I’m not talking about the slim pretty likes of Converse or Vans. I mean the classic, made-for-running, big and bold trainers.”
I love this look from Hannah from Eve Wanted A Wardrobe simple yet really funky look, she says:
“The best thing about being able to style running trainers into normal outfits is the comfort! I like to contrast a smart piece such as this blazer with the casualness of the trainers which I think stops the outfit from looking lazy. I love how they give an instant unexpected edge to your look. ”
Could this outfit be any more cool? Kotryna at Girl With A Movie Camera works the New Balance, she loves the comfort:
“I absolutely love running trainers trend! I own a pair of burgundy New Balance 574 and if I could I would be wearing them every single day. They go well with almost everything which was a big surprise for me and, well, you just have to try them on to see how comfy they are!”
Bethany from Paige Of Fashion keeps her running trainers simple with a denim shirt and cap and she loves the fact it makes the outfit so effortless:
“The running trainer trend just seems to project an image of effortless cool. As soon as you add them to an outfit it becomes stylishly urban, even if it was totally formal beforehand. Plus, you can’t really complain about the comfort side of things either!”
Lucita from Lucitisima has teamed her colourful Nike’s with a minimalistic outfit, she says:
“Simple and warm with a touch of Nike Colour, because who does not like comfort?”
I absolutely love the combination of this outfit from Charlotte at The Fashion Guitar, who says:
” No matter how much I love wearing heels, trainers remain my favourite! “
What are your thoughts on the running trainer as a fashion item, I would love to hear?
