Benefit x Citroen – Fast & Fabulous At Silverstone

Last month I was invited by Benefit & Citroen cars to take part in their ‘Fast & Fabulous’ day at Silverstone race course. This wasn’t just any old race this was a beauty blogger race! I was so excited to take part and visit Silverstone, as it’s something I’ve never done before.

As soon as we got to Silverstone we were briefed for the day and how the race was going to unfold. Alongside myself were 5 other beauty and lifestyle bloggers and our very own lady drivers. The race was themed around the recently launched Benefit x Citroen cars – yes, Benefit have launched a car!

Benefit has teamed up with Citroen to develop the DS3 by Benefit, which takes all the glamour of Benefit Cosmetics and translates this into each car. There are three in the range and each takes inspiration from a certain Benefit product. The Summer Crush is a beautiful berry colour and takes inspiration from Benefit’s Benetint, Own The City is sleek and black with an orange roof, inspired by the They’re Real mascara and the last one Perfect Finish is inspired by the new They’re Real Push Up Liner. What I love  is that each car comes with a fully kitted out make-up bag full of Benefit products, what a bonus!

After the briefing we got kitted out in our pink race suits and ready to tackle the challenge!

As the race was inspired by the new cars and products, what each of us had to do was go round the track with our driving partner in each car and in between car changes we then had to stop at the pitstop. This however wasn’t any pitstop, it was a make-up pitstop! So as each car represents a different make-up item, we had to apply that product between changes, this was not going to be an easy task!

It was a perfect sunny day for it at Silverstone too, so whilst we all raced we got to watch each other from the balcony and take the obligatory selfies of course. Finally it was my turn, I was last on the list and was a little nervous, but as soon as I got in the car and we were whizzing round it was brilliant! I absolutely loved going fast round the track and would have happily did it again!

Finally it was time for Lisa, Benefit’s Head Make-Up Artist to judge us on our make-up skills, our final score were determined by our make-up  application and also our lap times. After the short interviews and pictures we made our way to the podium, the actual Formula 1 podium where Lewis Hamilton stands that is, to see who were the winners!

I was delighted to have come second and took my place on the podium with Amy and Camille. Before we were all showered in champagne to celebrate!

I had such a fast and fabulous day, so a big thanks to Benefit and Citroen! It was also great to catch up with Arabella who I hadn’t seen since the Cosmo Street Style shoot. We were being videoed all day so I will hopefully have the video footage to share with you very soon 🙂
