About six months ago I didn’t know much about IPL or home IPL systems, now I feel like a bit of a pro and have tried out quite a few, you may have seen my other reviews from Philips and Silk’n on the blog. Now I am bringing you a brand new IPL system from Veet. Veet as you may know are one of the biggest hair removal brands so it was only a matter of time before they brought out their own offering of an at home IPL.
The Veet Infini’Silk Pro is a permanent hair removal system that you can use it at home. It uses IPL (intense pulse light) technology and takes about 4-5 treatments to start to see results. It is suitable for all body areas and comes with two different lamps, the larger body lamp for large areas such as legs and the smaller head for underarms, bikini line and face.
The device itself is a lot larger than the other ones I have tried, so it has a good grip on it. You use it plugged in and it comes with five different energy levels. These are dependant on your skin type which is detected by the skin colour sensor. One thing I would say before purchasing an IPL home system is to make sure you are eligible and by that I mean that some of them don’t work if you are very fair or very dark-skinned. The Veet one works on this scale so please make sure you check before buying. For me it works perfectly as I have fair skin and light brown hair. This system from Veet offers 120,000 light pulses in the main cartridge which is fantastic.
How To Use It?
The Veet Infini’Silk is so easy to use. Once you have worked out your energy level, make sure you have shaved the area and then press the sensor down on the skin. The lights at either side will flash if it’s safe to go ahead and then you press down the button on the handle. This will emit a flash of light and you can move onto the next section. See more of this in my demo video below.
Does It Hurt?
No not at all. Unlike waxing or epilating it shoots pulses of light directly into the hair follicle so there is no pain at all. You may have a slight discomfort from the heat but if you are on the right energy level then you shouldn’t feel this.
How Long Will It Take?
Each section takes no more than a few minutes, with legs being the longest so it is really convenient. The overall process takes up to about 10 treatments to have permanent hair removal, but everyone is different so don’t worry if you weren’t after ten!
The Veet Infini’Silk Pro is £249.99 available exclusively from Amazon, so add it to your Christmas list now. Watch my video below for a demo on how it works and to see it in action!

December 3, 2014 at 17:10Hey Nath! It’s quite hard to choose, I like the compactness of the Philips, but with the Veet you do get two heads, which is great for larger areas, plus more flashes overall too. So if you can spend a bit extra you do get more. For me though I think the Philips one wins out slightly as I find it easier when changing the levels. Hope that helps?
