When Francois Nars sold his company to back in 2000 he purchased an island called Motu Tane, a small Tahitian island located just off Bora Bora. Fast forward to now and the island inspires the latest NARS collection Tahiti Bronze. The limited collection includes two bronzers, liquid and powder, two body oils and a sumptuous candle. I managed to get my hands on the collection and from even first glance, it just makes me feel like I’m on the island, or is that wishing I was? Either way I love it.
The two body oils are Monoi Body Glow £44 and Monoi Body Glow II £44. The first is a multi purpose body oil with a tint, for a natural bronzed glow. It has a shimmer and when applying it just feels ultra moisturizing and luxurious. Monoï de Tahiti oil is composed of pure coconut extract macerated with the bud of the tiare flower (Tahitian gardenia), which infuses the oil with nutrients as well as a delicate, natural fragrance. I absolutely loved the fragrance of these oils, it’s hard to describe it but I’m using the words tropical, luxurious and summer.
The second oil is also lightweight and dries in quickly, it has the same fragrance but this time it’s clear on application. The scent is an addictive bouquet of Tiare blossom, white Frangipani, Ylang-Ylang and vanilla. Monoï de Tahiti Oil is said to hydrate, moisturise and prevent peeling of tanned skin, a great one for taking on holiday. I loved the bottle and the design of this one with what I’m guessing is the flower inside.
There are two bronzers in the collection a powder and a liquid. I tried the liquid as I have plenty powder bronzers and wanted to see how it faired. The Liquid Laguna Bronzer £26.50 is a liquid version of the best-selling Laguna NARS bronzer and is enriched with Monoï and Tamuna oils as well as vanilla for moisturising benefits. Personally it was just too dark for me, even how little I applied, I still looked more on the orange side, but that aside it a little goes a long way and I’m sure for the right skin tone this will look amazing and it definitely has staying power, it just wasn’t a bronzer for me.
I absolutely love the smell of the oils and the Monoï Scented Candle £38 is no exception, it smells delicious, super sexy and I can’t wait to burn it and imagine myself on that island in the sun.
The NARS Tahiti Bronze Collection is available now nationwide.
