For the final instalment of my Barcelona posts, I thought I would of course save the best until last. On our last evening we took a trip to see the Magic Fountain, which I had never actually heard about until my dad had told me about it. The fountain is located in an area called Montjuïc and in Summer on Thursday through till Sunday it becomes the biggest light and music display. The fountain changes colours and also there is a series of music played as it does, on the Thursday that we went it was everything from Miley Cyrus to the Titantic theme tune! As it is only takes place on certain nights I was really happy to have caught this on our short trip.
When we arrived I was not expecting this many people! It was absolutely packed and the street was lined with buses which I can only guess had come from nearby towns or the cruise ships. The show as it were is between 9-11.30pm so we headed for after 9.30, it later got slightly quieter but I’d recommend to go early to get a good spot. Apart from the main fountain, there are smaller fountains lining the street and also leading up to the Art Museum, which looked really outstanding. Again there are more outdoor escalators to take you up the hill. I loved climbing right up to the top and looking back down as the view was just wow!
I hope you have enjoyed reliving my Barcelona adventure with me and so I leave you with some images from the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.
