Yesterday was the perfect day for a spot of shopping and a nice lunch. We ventured to One New Change and had the perfect shopping experience, mainly because the shops were empty. It was as though they had been closed for me, it was amazing and much better than fighting the crowds of Oxford Street on a busy Saturday afternoon. So my tip for you, check out One New Change as an alternative shopping venue at the weekend. I think as it is mainly an area which is surrounded by offices during the week it must be very busy, but at the weekend not so much. One part which was actually busy however was Madison Rooftop Cocktail & Tapas bar.
After taking the lift to the sixth floor and having a lovely look-out over the whole of London we took a seat the bar. Madison’s bar is outside which is perfect for summer weather. I had been to the restaurant part before which is based inside and also has great views over the city.
We decided to have cocktails and tapas for lunch, naturally. The menu has a good selection of tapas dishes, nothing too out of the ordinary and pretty much what you would expect. The cocktails all sounded fabulous so it was hard to choose but I started with a Citrus Mojito, which was very fruity and refreshing.
For Tapas we ordered the salt and pepper squid with soya sauce which tasted so good. Mini cheeseburgers, BBQ ribs and patatas bravas which was enough for a lunchtime treat. I really enjoyed all of them, they are quite small portions so the more the better really I would say. I also tried the Madison Passion cocktail which was passion fruit and rose vodka, I loved the colour difference in the glass sit looked amazing and tasted great too.
Madison is a great place to chill out in the sun and enjoy some great food whilst overlooking London.
