Marks & Spencer have released their new fashion campaign for Autumn/Winter and this time round they have switched Ryan Reynolds and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley of previous campaigns for a bunch of ‘Leading Ladies.’ The campaign is described as ‘Britain’s Leading Ladies’ and was photographed by a leading lady herself, photographer Annie Leibovitz. The twelve leading ladies are to represent women from all different backgrounds, who have been united through their sense of style and their own achievements. To top that they have been shot against backdrops that are typically British such as a river boat on the Thames, a countryside scene and a London studio for the ‘London Calling’ trend, with each women wearing the new season clothing, which will go on sale in September. So who are these leading ladies?
We have…
Nicola Adams – Olympic Gold Winning Boxer, Monica Ali – Award Winning Author, Helen Allen – Nurse of the Year 2011, Darcey Bussell – Retired Principal Ballerina at The Royal Ballet, Grace Coddington– Creative Director of US Vogue, Karen Elson – Supermodel and Singer, Tracey Emin– Artist and Professor of Drawing at the Royal Academy, Ellie Goulding – Multiplatinum global recording artist, Helen Mirren – Multiple Award-Winning Actress, Laura Mvula – Singer/Songwriter, Katie Piper – Burns survivor, television presenter and charity campaigner, Jasmine Whitbread – CEO of Save the Children International
Along with this campaign just last week M&S Women also launched a special collection which was featured in it’s very own photoshoot in none other than Vogue magazine. The range features a fitted leather dress, wool coats and trouser suits, a limited edition lace and spotted dress, tops with zips and other embellishment and also accessories including a beautiful slouch clutch bag and pointed courts. My favourite has to be the leather dress which along with the whole range is very sleek and could easily be considered as above high-street prices. Both campaigns show that M&S are really upping their game to turn around sales.
What do you think of the ‘Leading Ladies’ campaign and the Vogue edit?
