Fancy all day happy hour cocktails and fried chicken?

Of course you do! Well last Sunday that’s what we treated ourselves to at Joe’s Southern Kitchen in Covent Garden. Yep, on a Sunday you can indulge yourself in half-price cocktails from the happy hour menu, although happy hour is ALL day and the margaritas are £4, which is amazing for London! You can also dribble over the amazing fried chicken, complete with chicken gravy and chicken salt fries.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s on offer. When you step into Joe’s Kitchen the long-line bar catches your eyes as it’s a sea of booze and mainly Tequila, the tequila menu is extensive to say the least. It has a really chilled atmosphere with an upstairs as well as a downstairs which takes you to the late night bar. Elements of Southern America adorn the walls and a giant candle wax stands tall on the bar.

Once you’ve ordered your cocktails you can get down to the food, there is plenty to choose from and all southern style as you would expect.To start we had the BBQ chicken wings, I am so addicted to these, so this time we went for the large portion. No matter how many I have of these I’m always left wanting more, what is in that special BBQ sauce!?

For mains I had the Southern Fried Chicken, complete with chicken gravy in its own chicken jug and some chicken salt fries. The chicken is so tasty and tastes amazing with the gravy, so definitely order that on top, don’t let me say I told you so! Danny had the Chicken Under A Brick which is a rosemary and garlic marinated half chicken, complete with whipped potatoes. We also ordered some corn bread muffins from the sides, fatties!

If that wasn’t enough for us we made room for dessert, chocolate brownie and ice cream, which is so gooey and awesome if you have room for it! I can also highly recommend the Oreo cheesecake which I had last time I was here.
