Hush Mother’s Day Style Challenge

March 12, 2014

I was recently asked by womenswear brand Hush to take part in their Mother’s Day Style challenge. The challenge is to style two outfits, one for yourself and one for your mum and the winner will receive £300 in Hush vouchers to give to their mum as a Mother’s Day gift or better yet half it between us (here’s hoping!)

I’d never actually heard of Hush before but after a good look on the site I wanted pretty much everything. I love how their clothes are so wearable and you can really mix and match so many pieces. They also sell Hipanema bracelets which I am currently obsessed with.

So here are my choices for me…

Hush Mothers Day Style ChallengeL/S Top £30, Boyfriend Jeans £75, Gold Metallic Skater Shoe £85,

Nail Polish £15, Jersey Blazer £55, Hipanema Bracelet £69

I chose the papaya coloured long sleeved raglan top, I loved the colour and it is such a wearable piece that I would be able to mix with other pieces in my wardrobe really easily. I teamed the top with these boyfriend jeans for a casual look and the jersey grey blazer which is a great wardrobe essential, it could go with everything! I loved the metallic gold skater shoes so opted for these and a Hipanema bracelet, I think they go really well together and gives an overall casual, basic but funky look. To complete the look I chose a bright pink nail polish.

For my mum’s outfit instead of me choosing the pieces I decided to get her to style it up herself. So here it is ‘The Mum Edit’…

Hush Mother's Day Style Challenge

Heart Necklace £30, Star Print Scarf £35, Jersey Blazer £55,

Maxi Vest Dress £35, Sequin Loafers £70

Mum also chose the jersey blazer but went for it in the beige colour. To match she chose one of the maxi dresses as a great basic piece and a pair of the sequin flats which I nearly also chose myself! We both have very different styles, so it was interesting to see we chose very similar things this time around. To accessorise the outfit, she matched it with the star print scarf and heart necklace. She liked the neutral colours of the outfit whereas I opted for something a little brighter.

I think by us both choosing similar pieces it shows how versatile Hush clothing really is. If you fancy treating your mum this Mother’s Day take a peek over on their site and I hope these outfits are able too give you some inspiration!

Now wish us luck for the competition!
