I’ll admit I have never actually tried a BB cream, or a CC cream for that matter. I have never really seen the point in them as I use my foundation which stays on all day and stick to it, so I was intrigued to try out this one from Ginvera which was kindly sent to me to try in this adorable gift set bag, how cute!
I thought I’d give it a try just the other day when I was on my way to the post office. It was one of those days where you really can’t leave the house as you look like a ghost but don’t want to put on a full face of make-up, this was it, my first BB cream experience…
Ginvera have a range of green tea products which hail from Singapore and Asian origin so I was eager to see the results. The BB cream is said to even out skin tone whilst nourishing the skin, stay on all day and also provides an SPF30. I put the cream on my fingertips to apply and it had a soft creamy feel as soon as it hit the skin on my face. I loved the colour already, I was transformed from pale to a more alive version of myself.
It felt lightweight and what I loved was it really made my face glow. It also covered up any red patches and spots, I’m guessing you would need a slight bit of concealer for this heavy-duty ones but it looked GOOD. I was really impressed! I’m not sure if I’m ready to use it everyday yet, but I really do love it, I’d love to hear whether you have ditched your foundation for a BB cream? I can really see myself using it in the summer or on holiday, but also would give skin such a glow for winter.
I guess having really clear skin helps to have more confidence to wear the BB cream alone, which is where this other Ginvera product comes in, the Exfoliating Marvel Gel. I have only used this once so far and I really like it. Unlike other exfoliators it doesn’t have hard beads that rub onto your skin, it’s a light green gel. Just use a small amount and rub it smoothly over your face rubbing in the selected area for about 30 rubs/1 minute, then rinse off. It is said to clear skin of blackheads, rub away dead layers of skin, contract pores, regulate your sebum to prevent spots, brighten complexion and even out skin tone.
After one use I am already seeing results! My skin is super soft to touch and when you rub off the gel you will see the dead skin in your hands, kind of gross but so good for your face. A few spots have risen to the surface which is great as it means it’s getting rid of them. I can’t wait to use this everyday and have nice clear skin, maybe then I’ll venture into BB cream instead of foundation.
You can buy Ginvera from the website or in Harvey Nichols stores. The set of these two products is £34.95 and I highly recommend investing, they are a beauty must!
