On Sunday it was a glorious sunny day and Michelle and I had a friend visiting from back home. One of Allan’s favourite foods is Italian so we took him to Getti Marylebone, a traditional and authentic Italian restaurant which also boasts a lovely outdoor terrace area. I had booked earlier in the week and was hoping for sun, so I was so glad that they had reserved a beautiful little spot for us outside.
Our table was perfect for catching the afternoon rays, people watching and of course a few glasses of wine over some good conversation! We started off our lunch with a basket of bread, oils and olives, topped off with a fair amount of drinks to keep us hydrated and some glasses of rose too. It might sound simple but one of my favourite things is bread and oil, you just can’t really go wrong!
I then ordered a Margherita pizza and some chips, Michelle had the same and Allan went for the Chicken Salad, to which I was slightly envious of, the chicken pieces looked so tasty. The pizzas though were definitely going to satisfy my hunger and were equally as delicious.
Being a hot day it was only fair to opt for dessert and what a dessert. I chose the mango, lemon and raspberry sorbet which was absolutely delicious, so tangy and tasty at the same time, topped off with a wafer and berry coulis, just looking at it again makes me want another. Michelle had the panna cota and Allan went for the traditional Italian ice-cream complete with wafer. Don’t they all look amazing?
Getti has a lovely friendly atmosphere with great service and authentic Italian food so do check it out if you are in the area. After we had eaten till we were full we then decided to take Allan nearby to one of the biggest tourist spots in London, can you guess where? I’ll give you a clue it was based just up the same street and has a whole host of celebrities!
