Did any of you manage to guess the location?
So after a perfect lunch at Getti in Marylebone, Michelle and I decided to take Allan to a celebrity filled tourist attraction, it was of course Madame Tussauds. I haven’t been for years to Madame Tussauds and funnily enough it was Michelle and I that went together on both of our last visits – we do love the celebrities! Just last week the new Beckham waxworks were launched so I was excited to see them, plus of course many others, I am not embarrassed to admit one of these was One Direction!
Madame Tussauds has such a variety of celebrities from popstars to actors and actresses, culture figures such as Einstein and Picasso, the Royals, sportsmen and women to musicians and world leaders. When you step in you really do feel like your surrounded by actual celebrities, people clambering for photo opportunities a plenty, now let’s calm down they are only waxworks, who am I kidding I was one of these people!
Michelle squealed with delight as we entered and first set eyes on Leonardo DiCaprio, it really was like he was right there. They are so lifelike. Each one is true to height and the detail is amazing from the eye colour to the hair and facial features, it’s amazing. The first section is full of Hollywood actors and by far the most popular on the day was Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt!
I then made a quick visit to Number 10 to see David…
And the Beckhams…
Then I helped Britney with her MTV Awards…
There is also plenty of eye candy for the ladies…
And Allan found some ladies for himself too…
Michelle was getting into the Wimbledon spirit, whilst I set my sights on the sprint!
Making your way through each section there is always something to look at. On top of the waxworks there is a Chamber of Horrors, full of scary looking waxworks and Scream which to be honest included live actors and I was too much of a wimp to find out what it entailed! The London Taxi Ride is something I remember from my previous visit but seemed much cooler. You take your taxi around the history of London and there is also a behind the scenes look at how the waxworks are made.
There is also the Marvel Superheros, giant superheros and an amazing 4D experience. You pop on your 3D glasses and watch the short comic movie. It really is amazing, water and air shoot out at you through the seats and the effects on-screen are fantastic. It was so much fun and of course we looked dashing in our glasses!
If you have never been to Madame Tussauds before you really need to go, it is such a fun day out. Plus to celebrate the new figure of England’s Bobby Moore, the first twenty children under 16 wearing football shirts on each weekend during the World Cup will get in free!
