Debenhams Mannequin Oxford Street

Debenhams Mannequin Challenge

September 15, 2014

Just before all the madness of fashion week started I was invited by Debenhams to their Oxford Street store to style up one of the mannequins. Debenhams currently have such a fantastic display on the womenswear floors which showcase the colours for the season, including pastels, blues, red berries, greens and café crème which was the colour I had to style up.

Cafe Creme Debenhams Mannequin

Café Crème is a mixture of nudes, naturals and browns. I knew this was going to be a bit of a challenge for me as I never normally wear anything nude or brown coloured. I went round the ladies floor and started filling my basket up with some pieces that caught my eye. I didn’t have a set idea in mind at first, until I came across this beautiful nude coloured embellished dress from Miss Selfridge. I’ve been thinking myself of teaming a jumper with a sequin skirt so this idea I thought would work well with the John Rocha fluffy cream eyelash jumper I had picked up first. Once that was decided I paired it with a pair of nude coloured shoes from KG and a gold glittery clutch from Oasis, which you can’t see here as a customer bought the last one in store from my mannequin, so my styling must have worked!

Here was my finished mannequin, which you can now see in the Oxford Street store on the womenswear floor!

And then here it is on myself. I love this jumper it is so cosy and warm and I can’t wait to wear it when it gets colder. The dress is a different style for me, but I really love it. The pearls and sequin embellishment on it is lovely, plus it has a gorgeous mesh part at the back too.
