Clarins Lip Comfort Oil has been a firm favourite in my make-up bag ever since I tried it back in 2016 and so I was excited when I saw they had partnered with another brand I love, The Kooples. I wouldn’t have expected this collaboration at all but I am totally here for it. I have two of the Kooples Emily bags which was a collaboration with Emily Ratajkowski and I absolutely love them, however this collaboration isn’t fashion based and sees their first dive into beauty with Clarins, combining both French brands essence of Parisian style.
There are two Clarins x The Kooples collectors lip oils, a dark and a light stone and just like the original Clarins Lip Comfort Oil they have plant extracts, hazelnut and jojoba oils but these new additions also have the extra benefit of a further oil. The dark stone is enriched with organic argan oil and the light stone with organic coconut oil. Both have a slight shimmer and give the lips a beautiful shine.

Each colour has smart pigments that work with the ph of the lips, so the light stone on myself was a milky pink colour with a touch of shimmer and true shine and the dark stone went slightly darker and more a plum pink on me. The dark stone comes out black which at first was off putting but after a few seconds it developed into my own colour. I liked both colours but for me I preferred the light stone.
The formula is just like the original lip oil, non sticky, not gritty from the shimmer specks and so comfortable on the lips. It moisturises them and leaves them feeling supple and plump. It also looks good worn over a lipstick, which I’ve been using the light stone for. One thing I’ve always liked about the Clarins lip oils is the applicator, it has a doe foot applicator and it just glides on so easy and covers the lip.
Clarins x The Kooples Comfort Lip Oils are available now and sold separately at £19 each.
