Borough Market on a Saturday is the place to be in London if you love anything food related. The market is packed with some absolutely amazing food stalls, everything from seafood to ostrich eggs, no seriously. You can sample some of the best wines, enjoy an ice-cold fruit juice or indulge in a hog roast. It’s the perfect place to not only stop off for lunch but pick up plenty of foodie goodies to take home too.
Living in London I pass through the market but never have taken the time to really explore it, so on Saturday we did just that and made sure I took plenty of snaps to share with you.
For lunch we stopped off at Roast restaurant, only this is the takeaway version of Roast. I had a chicken baguette filled with delicious roast chicken, stuffing and onion gravy, whereas Danny had the full on breakfast roll. These were absolutely delicious and I basically felt like I had eaten a roast dinner in a baguette.
I stopped off for a Pimm’s and then explored some more. I also might have picked up one of these amazing doughnuts from Bread Ahead.
If you look up you can also see the The Shard in the distance so it’s a great spot if you are visiting London.
I definitely will be going back here more often, there is too much good food. After eating as much as we could, we wandered up past the river where you can take in a great view of the SkyGarden and Tower Bridge, London at it’s very best.
