Aer blowdry is the latest blow-dry bar to pop up in London, another one south of the river. I think Chelsea clearly has the most blow-dry bars, not jealous at all living north, not at all.

I recently visited aer just before I headed to Paris for the weekend as I thought it was the perfect way to keep my hair looking it’s best for my Parisian adventures. aer is situated on Old Brompton Road and what I loved was the interior inside. Anushka the founder and owner has created such a beautiful space, it’s light and airy even has double seats, so you can sit opposite your friend if you wanted to come in for a girls day of pampering and then in the wash area it’s slightly more dim light to relax. This is also where treatments are done which include threading and tinting of the brows and eyebrows.

However I was there for a blow-dry and instead of the usual seven odd styles, I was asked exactly what I wanted. I decided I wanted to keep it quite sleek but with lots of volume and loose waves, as this is what I struggle to achieve. I always want to go for something different when I get a blow-dry, I never want what I can do at home, but then doesn’t everyone? I liked this approach as I think the styles are good to get an idea, but sometimes I feel blow-dry bars can be too stuck into the set style and then you often don’t get what you wanted.

The blow-dry didn’t take long at all, probably about 45 minutes and I was really happy with the result, take a look over on Instagram of the finished style. I really enjoyed my visit to aer, it was very relaxing and you can of course enjoy a drink as you sit back and get pampered. It was the perfect way to get myself ready for my weekend trip.
