An Interview With Maria Hatzistefanis

Maria Hatzistefanis is the founder of Rodial, Nip & Fab and also Nip & Men beauty lines. When I met her at a recent blogger event for Nip & Fab it was great to get some insight into the products but also lovely to have a chat with her. Rodial has become one of the most talked about brands with beauty experts and has a celebrity following including none other than Angelina Jolie. Now with Millie Mackintosh becoming the face of Nip + Fab it looks set to follow the success of its sister brand. Some of my favourite products include the Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Serum, the Rodial Glamstick and the Nip & Fab Bee Sting Face Plumper. But enough about me, I decided to find out a little more  about Maria and the lady leading one of the most popular beauty companies in the industry at the moment.

Maria you are under the Spotlight…

I’m always interested how a business gets started. What made you want to start your own range of beauty products and how did you go about it?

I’ve always been a massive product fan, and I knew from an early on there was a gap in the market for a chemical skincare range that changes the skin and makes a difference! I first started up Rodial Skincare as an alternative to plastic surgery. After a few years of Rodial going strong I saw a gap in the market for skincare ranges that offer quick fixes at affordable price points. Nip+Fab was born, we are now sold in number of the leading retailers including Super Drug, Tesco & Boots.

I love the concepts of the Bee Sting, Dragon’s Blood and Viper Venom, where do you get your ideas from when thinking up new products?

All our ranges have a different story behind them, which I think makes us more interesting compared to other skincare brands. I mainly get ideas from travelling and researching into new innovative ingredients. We like to add a twist to all our ranges, so they are unique.

Millie Mackintosh has just been named as the first celebrity face (and body!) of Nip & Fab, what was it that made Millie stand out for you?

We already knew Millie as she attended last year’s Rodial Beautiful Awards. We love her cool London style, the fact she’s super fit and has an amazing body and complexion she’s the perfect Nip+Fab face, she oozes everything we are about!

Your beauty cupboard must be packed full, which is your favourite product?

My favourite product changes depending on the time of year and how my skin is acting. At the moment I love Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel it helps to define my facial contours and gives me a flawless complexion.

Whats your ultimate beauty tip?

My top tip is using a day cream with SPF in, as this will protect your skin from any UV rays, helping you to stay looking younger for longer whilst protecting your skin! I can’t live without Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads I always carry them with me, I am an exfoliation addict!

Being the owner of such successful skincare brands, you must be very busy. What do you like to do to relax in your spare time?

I’m a huge fan of Yoga and love escaping to my house in the country during the weekends with my family and dog, this helps me to switch off and relax until Monday morning business starts again.

Just a bit of fun with this one; Name me your favourite holiday destination, food and cocktail!

Favourite holiday destination has to be LA as I love the sun and the lifestyle out there. I’m a huge fan of seafood as a whole and I love a Cosmopolitan!
