When it comes to Winter, I am all for nights in. So I like to make sure our flat, which definitely has the cosy vibe going for it already, has all the right things to make it perfect for snuggling up watching Netflix, with plenty treats of course. I’m thinking a hot chocolate and a big bag of sweet’n’salty popcorn, a must. Ok now I’m just dribbling so let’s move on.
I wanted to share with you some cosy homeware pieces I picked up recently after my visit to The Bentall Centre. The shopping centre is based in Kingston and is about a twenty-five minute train ride from London Waterloo and not too far from Hampton Court Palace. Sometimes it’s nice to escape the dreaded hustle and bustle of Oxford Street and have everything under one roof. I was pleasantly surprised by the choice of shops, a great mix of fashion, beauty and home and Bentalls itself is a massive department store, with everything you could need.
First stop was H&M Home, one of my absolute favourite places for homeware. They have such a good selection, always on trend pieces and also my current place for new blog props. Here I picked up this beautiful cream coloured throw, which I’m not going to lie, it did cross my mind first that it was perfect for Instagram. It’s a gorgeous colour, which compliments my existing fluffy cushions and you just want to get under it and keep warm. I also picked up a wooden star tray, which in the store they had candles next to it and I thought it would be perfect for that.
They had such a great selection of mugs, check out another of my favourites below in my gift ideas, but I couldn’t resist this porcelain mug with a hare illustration. Lastly on my way to the homeware section I also came across this grey knitted jumper, which is perfect for lounging in at home, I mean you have to keep warm with all these heating debates right? I’ll also wear it outside the home too as it’s so versatile.
Another of my favourite home stores is Zara Home, which sadly I never picked up anything in. Which confuses me no end as I always want everything in the store. I also had a snoop around Oliver Bonas who had some amazing fun pineapple party bits, a cocktail shaker and also the goblets really caught my eye. They also have a great selection of coffee table books, I might have to pick up the Los Angeles cooking one I saw, as I loved the food on our trip this year.
My next stop was then to Waterstones to pick up a new read, I decided to go for Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriaty, who also wrote Big Little Lies. If you haven’t read the book or seen the TV show, I highly recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading this one and I’ll have to let you know how it goes.
The last home pieces I chose were from Kikki K. I absolutely love their stationary and they have so many fun diaries and goal books for the new year, that they would make the perfect gifts for someone. I treated myself to a new notepad. I always find a new notepad brings new inspiration and I love jotting everything down, because you never know when an idea will come up. In addition I found the perfect scented candle for my wooden star tray. This gold candle has ‘The Time Is Now’ engraved on it, which I just love, I love to have inspiring quotes around the home, which you may have seen from my posters in the bedroom.
I hope my cosy home pieces I picked up have inspired you for your own home this Winter. I’m off to snuggle under my throw and watch Love Actually for the zillionth time. But before I do I wanted to share some more favourite homeware items I found across The Bentall Centre.
Perfect for gifting, or my rule when it comes to Christmas shopping, one for them, one for me.
