January Health & Happiness – Merchant Square
This January Merchant Square in Paddington are offering a month-long health & happiness campaign to help banish those January blues. Activities include Yoga, Hulafit, Running Club as well as manicures with Pamper Puff. If yoga is your thing, every Wednesday there will be a lunchtime yoga session in the Pavilion. This waterside class is for 45 minutes, leaving you enough time to head back to work a completely zen individual.
All levels are welcome and mats are provided, so no need to bring your own. Yoga runs 12.30pm – 1:15pm. Or get your heart going with Hula Fit. Expect a workout, but a workout with a hula-twist! Cancer Research UK London Winter Run
Take part in the Cancer Research London Winter Run on February 5th 2017. Now in its third year this is London’s biggest 10km run. The roads will be closed along this special route that takes you along Central London and past many iconic landmark sites such as Trafalgar Square, Bank of England and St Paul’s Cathedral. Added to that, the route will also have fun experiences along the way including a Penguin Party, a Husky High-Five Zone and a Polar Bear Hug for all at the finish.

The Crazy Coqs in Soho, ‘Live At Zédel’
Looking for live music and theatre this January? ‘Live At Zedel’ returns for a second season. Performances include songwriter Scott Alan, TV veteran Anne Reid and Danny-Boy Hatchard. In addition to individual performances is an all-new theatre production starring Julie Atherton, ‘January’, this is a satirical piece which explores the trials and tribulations that come hand in hand with the beginning of a new year.
The show takes the audience on a journey through the dreaded month, touching on topics such as dieting, weather, dry January, gym memberships and returning to work after the drama of the Christmas office party.
NEW OPENING – The Clifton Pub St Johns Wood
The Clifton pub in St John’s Wood is re-opening in January 2017. The Clifton has been a fixture of the local community for centuries and north London brothers Ben and Ed Robson will breathe new life into this beloved pub, bringing a new look and a refreshed attitude to pub drinking and dining to St John’s Wood.
After the success of Boopshi’s – their schnitzel and Prosecco bar in Fitzrovia – the brothers have been drawn back to their first love – pubs! The pair will restore the original features and community feel while rejuvenating the interior and offering a forward-looking menu with dishes such as ‘Korean Butter Milk Chicken with Gochujang BBQ sauce’ and ‘Rabbit leg with quince, bacon and dandelion’ on the menu.
Hot Gin Roof With Sipsmith At Ham Yard Hotel
Sipsmith have teamed up for another year with the Ham Yard Hotel for the return of Hot Gin Roof, Friday 2oth January until Tuesday 14th February. This year Hot Gin Roof will explore the theme of The Classics. Sipsmith Master Distiller, Jared Brown, and Ham Yard Hotel Bar Manager, Eoin Kenny, have collaborated to reimagine classic gin cocktails from the roaring 1920’s.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste a number of creations, from the ‘Hot Negroni’- using Sipsmith’s award-winning London Dry Gin, to the piping hot ‘Reverse Martini’ and the returning signature favourite the Hot G&T. The event sold out last year so be sure to get your tickets now.
The Black Cat Cabaret
The Black Cat Cabaret has announced an exciting new series of supper club events, taking place every Thursday-Saturday evening from Thursday 26th January 2017. Taking place at a former vaudeville venue hidden below the bustling pavements of Piccadilly, The Black Cat Cabaret’s new residency promises to combine opulent surroundings and fine dining with spectacular performances and shows. Guests can expect to encounter everything from high-kicking showgirls and jaw-dropping acrobats, to live musicians and a fire-breathing burlesque goddess.
At this new supper club event, the food also plays a leading role. Created by head chef, Alex Foley (Mercer & Co, Chapel Bar), the menu features a selection of small pan-European inspired sharing plates, main courses and desserts that can be enjoyed as a 3-course dinner on a private mezzanine table, or as laid-back bites in the stalls.
