Next month I am off to New York, which I am super excited about and have a beauty wish list longer than my arm. There are just so many products that aren’t available here in the UK that I want to get my hands on. Shopping on US websites can sometimes be easy, Sephora being one and Shopbop one of my favourites too, but others can be a damn right pain. I had my eyes on these amazing home decor pieces from an American retailer and then when I got to the checkout the duty and shipping charges were so much more than the items themselves, it just wasn’t worth it.
So when GoSend got in touch with me, I was super intrigued. They offer a shopping service which enables you to buy from ANY U.S online retailer and they provide you with a U.S shipping address so you can order whatever you heart desires. The items then arrive to your U.S address which is a locker. Each item is stored in your locker until you are ready to ship out everything. When they arrive GoSend take pictures of the items so you can check what each is and that it is what you ordered. Then when everything you have ordered arrives you just need to pay the shipping and they will have it all shipped out as one parcel, pretty great right?
I tested out the service myself with a little U.S haul. I’ve wanted a Lorac Pro Palette for forever so first on my list was the Lorac Pro Palette 2. I went for this one as the colours seemed cooler and I thought would be better for my skin tone than the first palette. The eyeshadows are so super soft and I can’t wait to create some looks with it. It also comes with an eye primer and I also got a free sample of some Philosophy moisturisers, Giorgio Armani moisturiser and a MAC mascara. That’s one thing that annoys me when shopping on U.S sites is that the samples aren’t available most of the time to be shipped to the UK but with these I got them.
From Sephora I picked up the Tarte Drink Of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturiser, which had rave reviews and after loving the Tarte Maracuja Oil it was a no brainer. It’s a gel based formula and feels lovely on the skin. I also got the Dr Dennis Gross Glow Pads which sound amazing. With GoSend you can either order the items yourself or use their ShopAssist tool and just enter the URL, what and how many of the item you want and the GoSend team will go and order it for you.
Lastly I finally got my hands on the home decor plates I wanted from Rosanna Inc. Shopbop sell some of her pieces which is where I discovered them, you may have seen my Creme da la Creme plate on Instagram before. I chose a couple of nice plates I thought would look good on my dresser for jewellery etc. To be honest I was a little disappointed on the quality of the ace of hearts one, the lettering was a bit off centre, whereas the little one was lovely and I am really happy with it.
I loved using GoSend and would definitely use it again. It’s hard to tell if I saved money shopping from the U.S as with customs charges it possibly works out the same for the items, but for me to be able to get items I can’t get here and save money on shipping costs definitely makes it a great service to use. You can track your parcels and it took not very long to arrive at all. What I love most was being able to buy lots of different things and then have it shipped in one package.
To get access to the personal shopping service I used and for 80% off shipping costs, sign up for a FREE VIP account for three months with my code THELDNDIARIES. Just head to the website at gosend.com and enter the voucher code.
Let me know what you end up buying!
