Red carpet season is well and truly underway and yesterday saw the stars walk the carpet for the SAG Awards 2015, that’s the Screen Actors Guild awards to those not in the know, honouring the best in television and film. There were stunning dresses this time round and I think a lot of celebrities got it right this time, compared to their choices from the Golden Globes a few weeks ago.
Here are my top 5 favourite looks from the SAG Awards 2015.
Sarah Hyland in Vera Wang
Sarah Hyland wore this absolutely beautiful Vera Wang dress. I love the slightly daring neckline and the way it cuts down. The encrusted top half is stunning and creates lots of detail to draw away from a smaller bust. Added to the net it creates a really modern and young look for the Modern Family actress. I really like actresses like this wearing something that is age appropriate and adding something a little different to the red carpet.
Felicity Jones in Balenciaga
When I first saw this dress I wasn’t sure, but Felicity has really pulled this look off on the red capert. The pink hue is gorgeous on her and paired with the Van Cleef and Arpels jewellery it has such a Hollywood glamour style to the whole look. The neckline is strong and she carries it off so well.
Camila Alves in Donna Karan Atelier
If anyone could pull off this complete velvet gown it was Matthew McConaughey’s beautiful wife Camila Alves. She looks absolutely stunning, I love the strapless bodice cut it really emphasises her curves and fits like a glove. The deep purple colour just looks amazing and screams luxurious.
Lupita Nyong’o in Elie Saab
Lupita does it again! I was a bit worried at the Golden Globes that she had lost her touch, I just didn’t love the look, this however is fantastic. The bright colours on this dress compliment her skin tone and it just looks young, fresh and modern just like her. The cut is so flattering and shows off her tiny waist and great figure.
Keira Knightley in Erdem
I love the colour and lace detail of this Erdem dress, it really flatters Keira’s skin tone and matches her make-up perfectly. The hair is tousled and it just looks so effortless. This dress if she wasn’t pregnant, I’m not a fan of the front part, but as she is, it is perfect for her. Well done Keira in getting it right after the Golden Globes Chanel (I wasn’t a fan!).
Next month the BAFTA’s and The Oscars will be taking place and I can not wait to see the looks.
