The Summer Exhibition is currently being held at the Royal Academy of Arts. My dad was visiting for the weekend so we went for a look on Father’s Day to see what paintings were being shown in this years show. Armed with my little book which gives you a full list of each artist and price of the painting, I was ready to do my best art critique. The majority of artwork being shown is available to buy ranging from anything such as £100 right up to £45,000.
What’s interesting is that anyone can submit work, you don’t need to have an artist background. The judges then pick each year what will be shown. I loved this cute kitten painting entitled ‘Text Me Yeah’ going for £1500. Another that caught my eye was this one of the yellow radio, which had been short listed for an award. There is such a wide rage of art on offer, paintings, sculptures, photographic work and also building models. It was really to see.
I wore LOTA Heart Sweatshirt, my new Topshop Pork Pie hat which I bought on the day, H&M skinny jeans, H&M lace trainers, Zara Blazer and Marc Jacobs Bag.
The exhibition runs 10th June-18th August at the Royal Academy of Arts near Piccadilly.
