On Sunday afternoon I was invited along to Mero Retro a vintage shop in Clapton, East London for a little blogger party with Julia of Stylonylon, Jaclyn of Bumpkin Betty, Toni of Fashion Your Seatbelts, Leigh of Fox and Feather Blog and the lovely Sanju and Paula of Mero Retro. Being a blogger party there was of course cake, lots of cake in the form of these amazing cupcakes which the owner Sanju had organised to be made for us. Each had our own blog name, so I now have had my first ever The P-Ho Diaries cupcake, so very cool. The other cupcakes had shoes and little dresses on them, they were amazing!
After getting over the amazement of the cupcakes, I was poured a glass of Prosecco and the afternoon of shopping had begun. Sanju’s store has so many vintage garments I was like a kid in a sweet shop, a very vintage sweet shop! Mero Retro used to be based in Camden at Staples Market so you may recognise the name, but now the shop takes its place in Clapton which I had never even been to until Sunday. I had such a lovely afternoon chatting all things blogger type and shopping, I basically played dress up and got to try on anything I wanted as the store was also closed just for us.
It was lovely to catch up with Jaclyn again and how great is her sequin jumpsuit?
I loved this eighties style dress, the colour was so beautiful but I think the shoulder pads were a bit too much for me. I adored this blue low-cut top and also this red cropped jacket with giant gold button, I couldn’t decide but chose the jacket in the end. I think it will be a great piece to wear with so many things and I can’t wait to style it up for some outfit pictures!
Julia took some Fujifilm Instapix of us all, they are the cutest little polaroids..
She also chose a pair of culottes, how cute are they? Whilst Leigh opted for these awesome dungarees!
If you love vintage pieces then be sure to check out Sanju’s store, it is full of some fabulous pieces of clothing not to mention, jewellery, accessories and so much more that you will definitely leave with a hidden gem. You can find Mero Retro at 124 Upper Clapton Rd and on their website, plus check out Sanju’s great blog too for some more vintage inspiration! Also stay tuned for a little giveaway coming soon 😉
Here we all are at the end of the day, thankyou for a great afternoon ladies!
