Anytime I try a new fake tan I’m nervous, you never can be quite sure what colour your going to end up in the morning! Recently though I think fake tans have really come along and improved on colour and application from when I very first used to use them.
I was sent a bottle of Madame LA LA tan to try out and was really eager to try this one as it not only self tans but benefits the skin at the same time. Madame LA LA is inspired by the gorgeous tans of Malibu beach, the Hollywood lifestyle and the American anti-ageing rule! With the slogan ‘I went to sleep in London and woke up in LA’, who wouldn’t want to try this.
Madame LA LA tan is the first brand to launch a DD tan which stands for ‘dynamic do-all’. It is a hydrating and detoxing self-tan mousse which combines many anti-ageing ingredients such as Aloe, Green Tea, Vitamin E and also includes Coco Water for an even long-lasting tan. The tan is said to even skin tone and appearance of cellulite. Most self-tans don’t have these anti-ageing or slimming benefits so I was excited to give it a go!
The tan is in a mousse can, you don’t shake it, just use it straight away. I used a mitt as always to stop my hands from staining, a St Tropez one none the less, sorry St Tropez and pumped out the tan, it was a lovely dark colour and a great guide to putting it on. I loved the colour I was looking after application, it looked like I had definitely had weeks in the sun. For someone who struggles to get fake tan dark enough I really had high hopes for this after seeing the base colour.
I let it dry for 5-10 minutes before I dressed, it really does dry quickly though. One thing I loved about this tan was the smell, it smelt like coconut, which was a pleasant change from the usual biscuit smell that self-tans provide you with. You have to leave it on for 10 hours before showering, so I did this a few hours before bed. In the morning I showered and normally most of the tan fades away and I am always disappointed I am not a golden bronzed goddess, but not with this one! I was so happy this one had really developed, the colour was perfect, I was very bronzed and I loved the colour on my legs. No patchy areas or dark knees! And I must point out I was very, very pale before I applied this!
This tan is said to last for 10 days which I can say is definitely true. Which to me is so great as I hate always reapplying or going patchy. There is nothing more disappointing than tanning and not being as dark as you hoped and then it’s gone in a few days. This is the complete opposite, I would go as far to say its my favourite ever tan I’ve tried to date!
Here is a picture of me wearing the tan on the weekend from my recent outfit post, I think it looks very natural!
Madame La LA is available from Fenwicks or MadameLaLa.com for £36.00, which I guess is pricer than most out there, but I really think it’s worth it!
