Have you ever wondered what a thunderstorm or sunshine smells like? Or better yet wanted to smell just like clean laundry? Well now you can with these new fragrances from Library Of Fragrance!
You might know Library of Fragrance as Demeter Fragrance Library which it was known as in the States but from this September the brand launches in the UK as Library of Fragrance and I am just a little bit excited. The brand originally started back in 1996 with its capsule collection of three scents ‘Grass’, ‘Dirt’ and ‘Tomato’ to now today spanning over 300 unique scents including ‘Thunderstorm’ ‘Gin & Tonic’ and ‘Snow’. Instead of trying to capture the ‘essence’ of an idea like many other perfume brands they aim for ideas that are real and familiar, such as ‘Ginger’ or ‘Pure Soap’. The scents also work well layered together to create your perfect smell.
I’ve been giving three of the fragrances a try out, which are ‘Moonbeam’, ‘Snow’ and ‘Marshmallow’. I was so intrigued to see what moonbeams would smell like, a fantastical glitter image springs to mind, but what does it smell like? Well for me this one really appealed, it actually reminded me more of an aftershave and after Danny’s opinion he agreed and decided he would quite like this.
I love the sweet smell of marshmallows, but this one had more of a fiery cooking marshmallow smell, I found it a bit weird to wear on its own but I’d definitely layer this for a sweeter smell.
My favourite of the three was most definitely ‘Snow’. I’m not sure I had a pre conceived idea what snow smelt like, just that I guess it’s very white and clean, but I loved this one! It’s hard to explain what it smells like as it doesn’t really smell like anything familiar it’s just really nice! I’ve been advised to layer this with ‘Thunderstorm’ or ‘Fireplace’ so I’m eager to see how that goes.
I love the idea of these fragrances, they really play on the sense of smell and now I want all 101!
Library of Fragrance launches nationwide in Boots next week and will be rolling out into stores between September 8th – 19th, where 28 of the fragrances will be available priced at £15 each for 30ml. There is also going to be a ‘2 for £25’ promotion running. The wider collection of 101 scents will available from www.thelibraryoffragrance.com from September 9th. Dare I say it, the perfect Christmas gifts.
