Getting Party Ready!

Tomorrow sees the first of December, it means I can open the first door of my advent calendar but also it means the start of Christmas parties to come!

I like to make sure my whole body is party ready, so not only my outfit shines but my skin does too. Before I add any sort of tan, I always make sure to exfoliate and moisturise, it’s the rules basically. I tried out The Body Shop’s Pink Grapefruit Scrub £13.50, I am totally addicted to the shower gel so thought this would be equally as delicious, of course it’s not for eating, but to get rid of all the dead skin and stimulate your skin to help it glow. I love the smell of this product it is so nice and I will happily smell like a pink grapefruit all day, it’s so refreshing.

Next I followed up with a really great moisturiser. Skin can get so dry in winter and especially from showering so The Body Shop’s body butters are perfect. I used the Vitamin E Body Butter £13.00 as it has a neutral scent, I don’t like moisturisers that are too overpowering with the smell. The body butter makes your skin really moisturised and nourished, it felt really great.

After this routine if I’m tanning I’ll wait a day and apply a really good fake tan or tan moisturiser. Then all I need to do before I go out is apply a bit of shimmer. The Sparkler £15.00 is perfect for a really iridescent shimmer and glamorous glow.

With many glitter products you can look like you dipped yourself in a whole pot of glitter but with this it’s really light so gives you a nice sparkle to set off your glow. It comes in an old perfume bottle style, which is perfect for spraying and not getting it everywhere, normally my bathroom sink would be covered in glittery bronzing powder! The sparkler comes in gold and pink, I used the gold one to set off the light tan.

Now my skin is party ready I just needed to throw on a party dress. I love this Tux dress from French Connection, it’s so classic and I really like the leather tuxedo style on the front. It wraps round and fastens with a button and I think it has a really flattering shape. What’s great with a plain black dress is you can add a sparkly bag and heels to add a touch of Christmas sparkle. I will also be able to wear it throughout the whole year and for many occasions.
