Champagne & Congratulations

August 22, 2012

Last week two of my good friends Anna and Matt got engaged, congratulations guys! So to celebrate we headed to the Skybar, which is the rooftop bar of the DoubleTree by Hilton near the Tower of London. I had never been to the hotel or bar before so it was great to try somewhere new and especially on this amazing day, the sun was shining it felt like we were in Sydney not London. It was the perfect setting for some bubbles.

The bar has some of the best views over London, situated right next to the Tower of London, The Shard and Tower Bridge with large glass windows giving you a full panoramic view of the city. The bar lines up against the wall with seating inside, a more cosier lounge area with booths and sofas and also an outdoor area with umbrellas.

I opted first for a champagne cocktail ‘Italian Rose‘ which just sounded amazing! It included Rosemary infused Stolichnaya Razberri Vodka stirred through Limoncello and charged with Rose champagne. I have become such a fan of Limoncello recently it had to be tried, and how pretty does it look. Decorated with I think lavender?

There is a wide variety of cocktails including a Millionaire Mojito which is a take on the standard Mojito with a champagne float. We ordered some food to keep us going, which there is a great selection for a bar. We had the mini lamb burgers which came topped with melted cheese. A selection of breads, which came with houmous and included some extreme cheese bread if you love cheese, you will love this.

The bar provided a great setting for Anna the lovely bride to be glowing below, and as the sun set down on London we enjoyed some more drinks. I would definitely recommend checking the bar out if your in London, it has already become one of my favourites.
