Barneys in New York City have teamed up with Walt Disney for this years Christmas campaign it has been announced. They are not the first major store to have a pairing with Disney for this Christmas, after Harrods London announced their collaboration for their Disney inspired princess windows earlier this year.
The luxury fashion store on Madison Avenue will feature a three-dimensional electric light show entitled ‘Electric Holiday’. Highlighting some of Disney’s most favourite characters. It will consist of a short film where the characters will each be wearing some of the latest designer clothes down the fantasy Paris runway.
The show is said to feature Mickey and Minnie Mouse along with Goofy, Daisy Duck, Snow White, Princess Tiana, and Cruella de Vil. Each look for the character has been designed by a well-known designer, such as Dolce & Gabbana and Lanvin.
Described as a mixture of fashion and fantasy, Electric Holiday will mix the magic of Disney with the well-known and festive Barneys Christmas campaigns, such as the amazing Lady Gaga display from last year, to create a celebration of modern electric lights, music and fashion.
Not only that but the artwork will also feature on special Barneys shopping bags which will be available in store, as well as merchandise which includes collectible Vinylmation figures designed by Paul Smith and Diane von Furstenberg plus Mickey Mouse ears designed by Rag & Bone and L’Wren Scott!
