What’s In My Weekend Washbag?

September 12, 2016

Going away for a long weekend is one of life’s little joys, getting away from the daily grind, the Monday to Friday stress and getting to relax is definitely everyone’s ideal. The weekend away washbag can be a little stressful however. Picking products can be a nightmare and taking just the right products is essential, here are my must have items in my weekend washbag.

Aveda Men Pure-Formance Grooming Clay –

If you are looking for a new lightweight pliable clay with a natural matte finish the Aveda grooming clay is definitely for you. What I love about this clay is how lightweight it is and how it adds both texture and importantly for me thickness throughout my hair without having to layer and apply too much product. It’s not the cheapest product at over £15 but worth the investment.

Aveda’s Invati Men™ Exfoliating Shampoo –

This shampoo is from Aveda’s newest hair thickening range Invati.  The range is said to improve the look of thinning hair. As someone who’s hair is thinning I have tried a number of thickening shampoos, but what I love about Aveda’s range is it’s almost completely natural and not only is it great at thickening my hair but also cleans it really well. It sounds a bit scary with the exfoliating, but this exfoliates the scalp which increases cell turnover and declogs pores, leaving the ideal environment and encouraging the hair to grow and be stronger. It also smells good and you can team it up with the grooming clay.

Maison Margiela Replica Jazz Club – Buy Now

As you might have seen in the Versace Dylan Blue review I absolutely love the latest Versace aftershave, but for a weekend washbag I like to take an easy to carry bottle. I picked up this Maison Margiela Replica rollerball in Sephora, on one of Paula’s many visits. Jazz Club is such a different fragrance and is described as ‘heady cocktails and cigars’, luckily it doesn’t smell like an old cigar but has certainly become one of my favourites.

Murad Razor Burn Rescue

As I suffer from razor burn the Murad razor burn rescue is a godsend. It’s lightweight, has a light scent and instantly reduces redness and burning on your neck. As it contains tea tree oil and glycolic acid it removes dead skin, whilst the Neem leaf extract and Vitamin E help to soothe and hydrate. The Murad razor burn rescue also reduces inflammation and actually prevents ingrown hairs which is ideal for me who has suffered previously. Check out my tips to prevent ingrown hair.

Kiehl’s Smooth Glider Precision Shave LotionBuy Now

This Kiehl’s shaving gel is without doubt the best shaving product I own. It is a latherless clear lotion which is perfect if like me you have a beard or you want to see exactly what you are shaving. Kiehl’s actually suggest you can shave with it without water and although it’s an alien thought it definitely works. As someone who needs to save every other day this is a great product to take and definitely my must have product.

Mr Jamie Stevens Sea Salt Spray

After visiting Jamie Steven’s salon I have been slightly addicted to using his sea salt spray. The spray is designed to add volume and texture, whilst softening your hair so it doesn’t go stiff. It’s a great pre styler and is great with and without a hairdryer. It’s perfect for a long weekend when you don’t want to constantly be worrying about your hair.
