Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

November 13, 2015

Gwen Stefani has teamed up with Urban Decay to launch a pretty epic range. The eyeshadow palette from the UDxGwen range landed on my doorstep this week and it was a thing of beauty, I am obsessed.

With celebrity make-up and clothing collaboration’s you don’t really expect the celebrity to have had that much input, but with Gwen Stefani’s collaboration with Urban Decay she has really collaborated in the true sense of the word. Gwen has designed every detail of the eyeshadow palette, including the case which is inspired by her love of black and white graphics, she has carefully chosen her 15 eyeshadow shades, each with their own unique Gwen inspired name and the lipsticks which I also have a sample of have been chosen so carefully. I think Gwen really embodies Urban Decay and she has always had such a colourful love of make-up, that I think it’s a great choice.

So let’s get onto the palette, there are 15 shades with 12 being brand new shades and three existing Urban Decay colours. The colours range from ‘Blonde’ (because Gwen is) a pale beige to darker neutrals such as ‘Baby’ (an homage to fashion line L.A.M.B) and ‘Zone’ (after the song Danger zone). I really like the brighter shades such as ‘Harajuku’ a metallic blue pink with shimmer, ‘Danger’ a deep metallic royal blue and ‘Blackout’ which is incredibly black and I love it. There is a really good mixture of shades.

Inside the palette is a mirror with the writing ‘Magic’s In The Makeup’ and inside the box is pink and white spots, you can see it’s been very well thought it and would make a gorgeous gift this Christmas. I also got a sneak peek at some of the lip colours; ‘Rock Steady’ a creamy red which is gorgeous, ‘714’ a mega matte red, ‘Ex Girlfriend’ a very natural sheer nude and ‘Firebird’ a creamy purple.

I absolutely love this palette and the lip colours too, it is an amazing collaboration. The limited edition eyeshadow palette is priced at £40 and launches on 22nd November at www.urbandecay.co.uk.
