Royal Scalp & Hair Treatment At Carol Joy London

October 5, 2016

If you have been following my Instagram you will have seen I was in Portugal last week, more on that very soon, but before my holiday I was invited to Carol Joy London for some pre-holiday pampering. Carol Joy London is a hair salon and spa located within the Dorchester Hotel and I was being treated to a Royal Hair Treatment, as well as a blow-dry and collagen eye treatment, all of which sounded amazing.

When you enter The Dorchester, you take the lift downstairs and you will come out straight onto the floor where Carol Joy London is located. Now being The Dorchester, of course you wouldn’t expect service any less than what I received. There was someone there to greet me at all times and take me through to the salon. I was introduced to my stylist and we went through the treatment and what I had in mind for my blow-dry.

Each step was explained to me before the treatment and also throughout it too, which I found very helpful. The salon itself is a million miles away from the bustling streets of London and is a lovely safe haven of white leather seats and long oval mirrors.

My treatment started by firstly washing my hair and to follow was the intensive steam treatment. This involved applying the Carol Joy hair mask and hair oil and sitting under the steamer for 15 minutes. The steaming helps to lift the hair cuticles to allow the treatments to penetrate deep into the hair shaft and is also is a really good treatment if like me and your hair is for dry from colouring often.

During the steaming I also popped on the collagen eye treatments. These are two under-eye patches soaked in collagen and hyaluronic acid, I left these on throughout my treatment and my under eye area felt amazing afterwards, super soft, moisturised and brighter too. After the steaming we moved onto the oxygen part which I was really intrigued by. I have had oxygen facials before, but never anything like this for my hair.

My hair was washed again and the oxygen scalp treatment was applied. It is worked into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles and encourage the hair to be stronger and in turn grow. The treatment I think has menthol in it and it had such a cool and tingly sensation on the scalp. The oxygen treatment was left for a further 15 or so minutes as I sat back and read some magazines – I swear the only place I read them now is either on a plane or at the hairdressers. It felt so cold on my head after the steam treatment, two complete opposite ends of the scale.

My hair was then blow-dried, I always go for something with volume and big waves, so this time I wanted something more natural and for daytime, so I asked for a slight wave and of course volume at the roots. I was very pleased with the result and it was exactly what I asked for.

I have been using the rejuvenating hair oil since my treatment and I absolutely love it. It makes blow-drying my hair so much easier and it is a blend of oils such as jojoba and argan which are great for protecting and nourishing the hair and making it lovely and soft.

If you fancy a bit of luxurious pampering then I’d definitely recommend visiting Carol Joy London. The Royal Scalp & Hair Treatment is priced from £120.
