Rihanna’s Secret Gig – #777 Tour

This post is exactly what the title suggests!

I was lucky enough to attend Rihanna’s secret gig on Monday night as part of her #777 Tour. The tour sees Rihanna cover seven cities in seven days to promote the release of her new album Unapologetic, which btw is very good.

I was SO excited to be going and even more so as I knew the venue, The Forum in Kentish Town, was pretty small so this was going to be a really intimate gig and would be able to get close to Riri! She has just released her plans for her tour next year and I was disappointed that she was playing at Twickenham Stadium as this is where I had seen Lady Gaga and felt the size of the venue was just TOO big, there is little hope of getting close and if you have a seated ticket, no chance! So the thought of being in such a small venue with a superstar was immense.

I was proved right by my thoughts and once she FINALLY came on at 10:15pm I couldn’t have been happier! Wearing a Happy Ashley printed combo and vintage Versace jewellery Riri played a mixture of old and new material, giving us two songs from her new album ‘Fresh Off The Runway‘ and ‘Stay‘ plus older favourites like ‘Hate That I Love You‘ and ‘Unfaithful‘ to which she sang acoustic.

Now she did throw a little bit of a hissy fit, which is understandable to someone who has been flying all over the world and had no sleep. To all the journalists who have been on this tour with her and complained, I think they must realise this is what it is like to live her life (ok maybe without the perks and first class travel) but you get what I mean.

By hissy fit I mean she started swearing at her band for the track not being in time, see the video on my YouTube channel here!

Aside from that she also gave out her memorabilia HTC phone oh and had us all shout ‘Budweiser, HTC and River Island’ the sponsors of the tour hmmm….

My favourite performance was ‘We Found Love’ at the end, ticker tape exploded with shoots of smoke and everyone was going crazy, I spotted up in the balcony was Nick Grimshaw and Henry Holland dancing away!

Rihanna clearly knows what she is doing, whether good or bad coverage this tour has blown up and ‘Unapologetic’ album is being talked about!

I had a fantastic night and was so glad I was able to be part of the #777.
