Can you believe I have never been to a pantomime before? That aside there is a pantomime coming to London from the 28th October until the 1st November, but this one has a bit of a difference. This is the Interior Designer’s Pantomime, which takes place every three years and sees the world of interior design meet the world of fashion all for charity.
This year round its for the NSPCC and for one week only Peter Pan & the Designers of the Caribbean will take over the Bloomsbury theatre. The costumes for the pantomime have been designed by some of the world’s top designers including Vivienne Westwood’s own take on Peter Pan himself, Jasper Conran, Anya Hindmarch and Zandra Rhodes. The costumes are made from furnishing fabrics, yep here comes the interior design aspect and the interior designers will also play the characters, Tim Gosling will be playing Donna Kebab, the ships cook and Dame and Joanna Wood as Tinkerbell.
Here are some sketches of the amazing costumes designs.
Peter Pan by Vivienne Westwood
Captain Hook by Piers Atkinson
High Priestess by Jenny Beaven
Donna Kebab ‘Long Joan Silver’ and as ‘Dredged Elizabethan’ below by Jasper Conran
