Hydrating My Skin With Origins

March 10, 2016

I have tried numerous skincare brands and consider myself a bit of a skincare junkie, so when I realised I hadn’t tried anything from Origins before, I quickly rectified the situation and thought I would test out a few products from the range to see how they worked for me. I tried out three products that were recommended for my skin type – dry/dehydrated and probably a little sensitive too. These were the Origins Drink-Up Intensive mask, the Original Skin Renewal Serum and the Make A Difference Plus+ Treatment

I’ll start off with the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask £23. After one use of this mask, I knew I loved it straight away. Firstly it smells amazing, lovely and fruity and something you won’t mind smelling all night long. Also Danny doesn’t object, normally I get a resounded ‘what have you got on your face’ question and look in bed. The texture is thick without being too thick, just a lovely creamy feel that sinks into my skin straight away but I can still feel it a little on the skin as I get into bed, so I know it’s going to work it’s magic as I sleep. It has nourishing ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Apricot Kernel Oil and Avocado and Mango Oils and is great to make your skin feel hydrated and awake by morning. I love this product and have been using it regularly over the past month.

Make A Difference Plus + Treatment £35 is a product I enjoyed using, but left quite confused about it in general. Origins have two products very similar, this one the site says is more for Oily/Combination but adds moisture to dry/dehydrated skin, whereas the moisturiser product which looks identical is more for combination/dry skin, which I’d say I probably was more. It was a nice product to use, felt nice on my face, but I didn’t see any amazing results from this one. Maybe I would need the moisturiser product of the two to see a major difference, I’m not entirely sure to be honest.

Origins Make a Difference Plus + Review

Original Skin Renewal Serum £15 covers five different skin issues. Persian silk tree helps to de-stress the skin, chestnut seed extract smooths roughness, willowherb restores your skin’s natural glow, algae helps to reduce any oil to make pores shrink and be less visible and finally it says to minimize flaws and blur imperfections. I was a little bit worried this might be too drying for me as it looks to soak up any oil,but on use didn’t find that the case at all. It was really enjoyable to use, again another lovely smelling product and the serum is not thick at all and dried in quickly, leaving the skin feeling super soft. I like to use this under my moisturiser and before make-up to keep my skin feeling refreshed looking.

Out of the three I’ll definitely be using the Overnight Mask on the regular, it’s just too good!
