Oils Of Life

September 25, 2015

Oils of Life is described by The Body Shop as ‘not a miracle but it’s close’, intriguing I hear you say, well yes it really is.  Each product has been derived from seed oils which are key to our body and skin looking healthy. Going back in time, Cleopatra in Egypt was said to be using seed oils in her beauty regime and let’s be honest her make-up and skin was on point. Seed oils are known for being rich in nutrients and for also their restoring properties. There are three seed oils within the Oils of Life range; Black Cumin seed oil from the Egyptian Nile Valley which is known for its antioxidants, Camelia seed oil from the evergreen trees of China, rich in nutritive oleic acids and Rosehip seed oil from the Andes foothills of Chile, which is rich in omega 3 and 6.

I have always been a fan of oils for the skin, probably because my skin is dehydrated, but these are designed for all skin types to use. In the range you have 4 key products and also a face massager which you never knew you needed till you try it.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life

Intensely Revitalising Essence Lotion £15.00

Sounds good from the title doesn’t it? This is my favorite product in the Oils of Life range. I really do like using an essence lotion, see similar from 001 skincare. You can use this after cleansing and before serum or moisturiser, so it’s sort of like a toner. It gives your skin a nice light coverage of the lotion, nothing greasy feeling and revitalises your skin and prepares it for the next step in your routine. Essence lotions are very popular in Asia and aren’t as familiar over here, so it’s great to see The Body Shop adding one to this collection. If you are unsure, go into the shop and give it a little try, I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.

Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil £28

This may seem quite a pricey product at first, but when compared to other facial oils on the market I would say it’s very good value for money. Facial oils have so many benefits and don’t make your skin feel greasy. Just a few drops can help to nourish and revitalize the skin, making it more radiant. A great tip with this is to apply it to your face then use the facial massager I was talking about. I love to apply this before bed and just let it do all the work.

Oils of Life Facial Oil

Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream £25

If facial oil isn’t your thing then the gel could be for you. This isn’t as heavy as the moisturiser in the range and has illuminating micro pearls, so it can be a great one to wear under your make-up. If you don’t like too much moisturiser this one is for you, it’s very lightweight and soft on the skin and has a lovely cooling feeling too.

Oils of Life The Body Shop Gel Cream

Intensely Revitalising Cream £25

If you do prefer something a little thicker, then I would recommend the cream. For me I have dehydrated skin so I would go for this one. The plant oils are composed of fatty acids which help to nourish the skin and help the seed oils to distinguish between each other. This cream makes your skin super soft from first application.

Revitalising Face Massager £16

This face massager I must say is amazing. It’s cooling on the skin and you can feel it quite tightly too, in a nice way. It helps to boost the circulation across the face as well as reduce puffiness and wrinkles. Use it with the facial oil and follow the instructions on the box, they are very easy.

The Body Shop face Massager

You can tell The Body Shop have put a lot of research and thought into these skincare products and I think it really is a lovely range and a great way to introduce yourself to oils and if you are familiar with oils then I’d say it’s a very good value for money range with lots of benefits, so go treat yourself.
