Housed in a grade II listed building, the former home of British Linen Bank, on Threadneedle Street is Piazza Italiana. A new Italian restaurant with traditional Italian food in a grand setting. Inside it incorporates the previous Edwardian architecture with high ceilings, Neoclassical Corinthian columns, and wooden panelling with slightly more contemporary touches. The ground floor is divided into a main dining area, a cosier bar at the back and a private dining room, plus there is also seating upstairs so you can imagine how big this restaurant is inside. We went to try it out for an early evening dinner on a Wednesday which I would recommend if you like that slightly quieter feel, as it tends to get busier into the evenings. To start we had selection of breads oils and butter and then we opted for two starters to share. The Gallinacci e patate croccanti which is a mushroom and potato dish, this was in a light mushroom cream sauce, which brought out the flavour in the mushrooms and the thinly sliced potatoes balanced this starter out. I’m admittedly not a mushroom fan, but absolutely loved this – I’m converted! We also tried the Zucchini e dadolata […]

Eataly fuses together the two words ‘Eat’ and “Italy’ to create Eataly, an Italian market filled with Italian food and treats. Over two floors it has three restaurants and bars and six eateries to enjoy the taste of Italian, where you can eat, shop and learn as there are even cooking classes. It has everything you would expect from an Italian market, pizza and pasta, Aperol Spritz on the outdoor terrace, over 2000 Italian wines and irresistible chocolates and cakes. You can find Eataly in Liverpool Street and if you want to walk through it with me, check out my reel on Instagram.
A roof terrace serving fried chicken and cocktails in the sunshine? I’m in! Coqbull has took over Jamie’s Italian building in Soho just off Piccadilly. It has three floors plus a roof terrace where they are serving up fried chicken, burgers, hot wings and cocktails, plus more-ish desserts like waffles and ice-cream and a warm cookie pan. I went down this week to try it out and luckily we were blessed with sunshine and were able to enjoy the roof terrace area. Starting off with a couple of Coqtails, Pornstar Martini of course and I had to try one of the Frozen Daiquiris, the strawberry one was perfect and they have a good selection of cocktails including Jammy Dodger which is a rum and gingerbread mix to Smokey Berry with Caskmates whisky and blueberry. For starters we had Popcorn Chicken with Habanero Mayo, tasty little bites of peppery chicken with a tangy sauce and the Halloumi Fritters which were lightly fried with gooey halloumi and the Pomegranate Seeds and Creme Fraiche added a complimentary lighter taste. I was torn between the rotisserie chicken for main or the Southern Fried Chicken, but the latter won out in the end. The Southern […]

Lost Boys Rules No Talking To Pirates Believe in Fairies Think Happy Thoughts Never Grow Up Thankfully these are rules I can follow easily! This week I went to try out the Peter Pan Afternoon Tea which has recently launched at the scenic Aqua Shard situated on Level 31 of The Shard. Our afternoon tea setting was the perfect view across the City as we got to enjoy some magical treats from this themed afternoon tea. Peter Pan Afternoon Tea draws on popular characters and scenes and from J.M Barrie’s much-loved novel and is in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) where £2 from each afternoon tea sold for the year will be donated to the charity. The tea starts with an illustrated nod to Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook on the plates and the menu opens up to reveal a Neverland of inspired sandwiches and sweet treats. We started off with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rose and our tea selection. There are two special teas available; The Darling Tea which celebrates Wendy Darling and is a Black Tea infused with rose petals and vanilla and also The Adventure Tea inspired by Peter and […]

Over the years I’ve tried a whole host of restaurants in London, some which sadly are no more *waves to Tramshed* and I guess I’ve developed a high standard for good food and good service. So if you are looking for a delicious first meal out of lockdown then here are the ones I always look forward to going to and end up going back to, which therefore I’d say get the title of best restaurants in London. BOB BOB RICARD Re-opening on July 21st Bob Bob Ricard is luxury dining in the heart of Soho. Renowned for their iconic ‘press for champagne’ button and their BBR Signature Chocolate Glory which no doubt you will have seen on Instagram with its melting gold covered chocolate dome. I’m also a lover for the Eton Mess dessert which has a similar idea. Their English meets Russian menu is presented beautifully as well as being delicious and the service is spot on. This is the place to have a birthday dinner or just splash out on a post lockdown lunch. Book now at Bob Bob Ricard BARRAFINA I’d be surprised if you have ever walked past Barrafina and not seen a queue outside. […]
