Image Skincare has easily become a favourite skincare brand for me and their Vital C range is by far my most used from their line. They recently added three new additions; Vital Hydrating Water Burst £50, Vital C Overnight Hydrating Masque £65 and Vital C Hydrating Antioxidant A C E Serum £75. I was very keen to test them out so I packed these away with me on my recent holiday to Greece, each helped to stop my skin from drying out in the hot heat as well as maintain a natural glow. I don’t really wear make-up on holiday, only a little in the evenings so I wanted my skin to look it’s best.
Vital C is the perfect range for me, my skin is dehydrated and always in need of a bit of a glow boost. The Vital C range has of course plenty Vitamin C in it, so before I get to talking about the new products here are just some quick reasons why Vitamin C is not only good for you on the inside but as topical skincare too.
What’s so good about Vitamin C skincare?
Diminish Lines & Wrinkles
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can help boost collagen production and with regular use in turn help to plump out those lines and wrinkles. It’s also good for speeding up the healing process of any cuts or acne scars.
Reduce Skin Discolouration
Using products with Vitamin C such as a Vitamin C serum can help reduce redness and discolouration of dark spots on the face. It is also great for banishing under eye dark circles.
Brighter Complexion
One of the main reasons it works for me is it gives my skin that glow it often lacks.
Hydration
Vitamin C can help to improve hydration and moisture.
I think working just one Vitamin C type product into your skincare would be really beneficial for all skin types, but I can only talk from my own experience.
Vital C Hydrating Water Burst was the perfect product on holiday, you can use this in the morning or throughout the day for a burst of hydration. It has a light gel texture and you just squeeze some out into your hand and apply to the face. It gives skin a burst of antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and peptides. It’s that pick me up your skin needs. I love the smell, it smells like oranges and it dries in quickly, there is no sticky residue or anything left on your face. It basically is like a drink for your face.
Under my sunscreen I put the new serum, it has Vitamins A, C and E and echinacea as well as green tea extracts and bearberry extract. All of these help to maintain hydration and produce collagen as I mentioned above. Vitamin C neutralises free radicals and helps shield your skin from damage, it’s definitely not a replacement for sunscreen but I believe can work well when paired together.
Lastly the new hydrating overnight masque, I just love it. It’s a gel texture, smells amazing and is the perfect end to a hot summers day. It’s light enough so it doesn’t feel rich or heavy on my skin, but feels refreshing, a little like that feeling you get from aftersun after a day sunbathing. My skin after using this looked brighter and felt soft to touch in morning, I’m hooked on this product.
