Last Thursday night I headed to MC Motors a pretty sweet little venue in Dalston, East London. The event in question was major American shoe brand Steve Madden’s UK launch party. It was set to be a great event with singer Paloma Faith performing!
As soon as my friend and I got there before heading to the bar we got distracted by the photo booth. I always love these at parties so decided to give it a whirl first and foremost. We pulled various faces which clearly we weren’t ready for!
We then scooted to the bar for a much-needed drink, a free bar none the less with lots of free Patron tequila cocktails yum!
MC Motors has a really cool interior with giant stars lit up, giant letter signs, including this amazing ‘OH’ with Andy Warhol images being projected onto the walls. I wore a velvet glitter dress from Topshop and my hair extensions, which were very hot and I haven’t worn them much since my recent haircut, now I remember why!
Whilst waiting for Paloma to perform we had a good look at all the shoes on display. Steve Madden has such a great selection and they are totally ‘me’. I love all the studs and spikes and super heels! The shoes were displayed in lockers which was a great idea and again on light boxes. My favourite were some gold and black studded flats.
Paloma Faith took to the stage and performed some tracks from her new album including ‘Just Be‘ and ‘Never Tear Us Apart’,which you might recognise from the John Lewis advert! Have a listen on the video below. She also wore her favourite pair of Steve Madden sparkly shoes with a beautiful green Kaleidoscope silk dress by Suzannah.
The rest of the night was a mixture of more drinks and Nick Grimshaw and Pixie Geldof DJ’ing. To which Nick played some proper tunes, lots of Jay-Z- happy P-Ho.
We both left the event with a goodie bag in hand, which included 25% off Steve Madden, so I will definitely be heading to House Of Fraser to use that!
