ESPA Life at Corinthia London

March 4, 2015

ESPA Life at the Corinthia Hotel is the one of London’s most luxurious spas and Danny and I were lucky enough to experience the spa last Friday and boy were we in for a treat. It’s weird, going to any spa is supposed to be relaxing but I actually find going on my own quite stressful, maybe I am just not good at not talking to anyone for a few hours or something, but I always find myself getting quite bored. So it was really nice to have Danny with me for a spa day and be able to experience it together as a couple.

ESPA Life is located within the Corinthia Hotel and is absolutely huge. We couldn’t quite believe the size of the spa. Compared to the Chuan Spa at The Langham which I had visited recently, which we’ll call a small home, this was a castle. A luxury castle of relaxation that was. Which was perfect for after the stress we have had of moving home recently and also for me a nice way to relax after London Fashion Week.

We were both greeted at reception by the really lovely member of staff and asked to fill in our personal and health details on the forms which were presented to us on iPads. After a quick filling out, we were then shown round the spa and taken to the changing rooms. The men’s and women’s changing rooms are just a floor apart, so it’s really easy to agree on a meeting point in between. We decided where to meet and then went our separate ways to get changed. Inside the women’s changing room I was surprised yet again at the size. There was lots of room, plenty lockers, communal showers and also private change and shower areas. It’s also really bright whereas I think the men’s is slightly more dark and manly.

You will also find a sauna which was a really good size for being in the changing rooms. In your locker you will find a robe, towels and a pair of very sturdy flip-flops. Other little bits and bobs you might need like a comb, toothbrush, vanity kit etc can be found under the lid of the dressing tables in each change section. Sometimes you never know what to expect in your locker so I always take a few things with me, but the ESPA Life is complete luxury and you find pretty much everything you need.

Danny and I met up on the bottom of the thermal floor where there is a beautiful area to relax in with comfortable big sofas and the prettiest light display I have ever seen. From there we explored the rest of the thermal floor. This is the main floor of the spa and where all the facilities are. The lighting is so dark and relaxing and facilities include a swimming pool, an amazing vitality pool with air and water massage jets, seriously this pool is fantastic. A black mosaic steam room, experience ice showers, heated relaxation beds and also an amphitheatre sauna which gives you a full view of the floor.

Throughout the floor there are lots of areas to relax and the mini fireplaces are an extra added touch to the interior that I really liked. There is also a Spa Lounge on the floor above, where you can enjoy some light food.

We both had booked in for a personalised massage. For the treatments you head back to the changing room and wait for your therapist to come and collect you. They will then take you to one of the treatment pods. These are much larger than you would expect and I really like them compared to a normal treatment room. We had our massages separately and the massage is really directed at any areas you want to treat. I wanted to focus on the tension in my shoulders so my therapist did that and also worked on the rest of my body especially my leg where she said I also had a lot of tension. It was very relaxing the whole massage. Danny even said he fell asleep it was that good!

After massages we both headed back to our separate changing rooms and I actually had a bit of chill out time in the sleep pods. These are located just before the changing area and is a room filled with individual mini bed like areas, with blankets and dark lighting, a fire in the centre and plenty water and fruit. It is the ultimate relaxation room and perfect for after treatments.

ESPA Life Corinthia

We both really enjoyed our experience at the ESPA Life Spa at the Corinthia and came away feeling really refreshed and relaxed. I also spotted quite a few other couples on the day, so I think it is a great thing to do together for a bit of pampering.

A personalised massage is £165 per person and they also offer various other treatments. Look out for the packages, they have a Mother’s Day Pamper Package at present which is £245 per person and includes a 50 minute soothing massage or 60 minute personalised facial, manicure or pedicure, a red carpet blow-dry at Daniel Galvin located within the spa and a light lunch in the spa with a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne or freshly squeezed orange juice. Sounds pretty good to me.

Alexander McQueen Prêt-à-Portea At The Berkeley

March 3, 2015

Without doubt The Berkeley’s Prêt-à-Portea is one of my absolute favourite Afternoon Teas in London. Mainly for the cakes which are phenomenal and all have a fashion theme. Nothing quite like tucking into a Moschino handbag made of sponge.

To celebrate the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A, which I cannot wait to see. The Berkeley have added the addition of two Alexander McQueen treats to the Prêt-à-Portea. These are two of his most iconic pieces, the Armadillo shoe – as seen on Lady Gaga and the Butterfly Hat designed by Philip Treacy for the S/S 08 catwalk show.

Pret A Portea The Berkeley Alexander McQueen

The Armadillo shoe will be a chocolate biscuit with cream icing and sparkles whilst the Butterfly hat will be a dark chocolate mousse set on a sablé breton with delicate red sugar butterflies. They both sound and look amazing! Such great additions to an already fabulous Afternoon Tea. For more on Prêt-à-Portea take a look at my review. The Alexander McQueen exhibition opens on March 14th at the V&A.

February Favourites

March 1, 2015

Pinch punch, first of the month and welcome to March!

I am so glad to be able to bring you a new video, it feels like forever. I have just recently moved house and so Danny and I have been relying on a dongle for Internet, so you can imagine my annoyance in not being able to upload any videos, or do much else properly. It’s a nightmare if you blog as I am sure fellow bloggers will understand. But we finally had Virgin Media come on Saturday and I hoped for a smooth installation and it was quick and very easy and I now have full on wifi! Not only that but I just uploaded this video to YouTube in half an hour – I can’t quite believe it. If you are a blogger and currently looking for Internet, definitely get Virgin Fibre if you can, this is not promoted in anyway I am just amazed. Previously we had Sky and it took about 6 hours if not more, so I am so happy that it’s going to be much, much quicker to upload my videos and it really encourages me now to do more now.

LDn Diaries blowing bubbles

In this video I’m talking all things I loved in February from Yankee Candle’s new Spring collection for the new flat to bubblegum lip scrubs, oh and find out just why I am blowing bubbles!

If there is anything you’d like to see me cover in my videos I would love to hear, so do let me know. I hope you enjoy the video and do remember to subscribe to my channel after the dot. Click here to subscribe.

Moschino Ready To Bear AW15

February 26, 2015

Moschino AW15 hit the catwalk tonight and again it’s another must-see collection from Jeremy Scott. After Moschino McDonalds and Moschino Barbie where was he going to go? Well tonight he took the Moschino AW15 collection to a whole other level with gangsta Looney tunes characters, bright coloured puffa coats, ye I said coats, which reminds me of Benetton puffa jackets when I was younger. Spray painted gowns and the ‘Ready To Bear’ capsule collection inspired by the Moschino Toy fragrance.

Seeing Moschino’s collections is always such a highlight for me, they are so fun and of course I now must have a Looney tunes sweatshirt dress or baseball shirt, I’m easy. Heres a little look at some of my favourite looks from Milan.

Herbalife SKIN Review

February 26, 2015

You may have heard of Herbalife before from their world leading nutritional products. Now Herbalife have brought out a skincare range called SKIN. The range is designed to create more youthful and healthier skin and contains a powerhouse blend of Vitamin B, antioxidant Vitamins C & E and Aloe Vera with results being visible in just seven days. SKIN has no added parabens and is free from sulphates, so the focus is on the vitamins and botanicals to enrich the skin.

Herbalife SKIN review

I’ve recently been trying out the whole range and I must say I am impressed with it and I find the products really complement each other. I have been cleansing with the Soothing Aloe Cleanser £19.25. This has a really lovely feel to it and removes make-up and dirt from the face really easily. Sometimes I find with a cleanser I’d need to give it two applications but with this one was enough. It’s a great way to cleanse the face in morning and gives my skin that boost it needs. The Daily Glow Moisturiser £32.65 has been a complete treat to try out. It is infused with antioxidant vitamins, sunflower seed oil, nut oils and flower extracts and is said to leave the skin moisturised for 8 hours. I found it a really lovely texture for a day moisturiser, it wasn’t too thick but gave me the protection I needed throughout the day. It also has illuminating properties so left my skin with a glow.

Herbalife SKIN Herbal Toner Review

One of my favourite products has been the Energising Herbal Toner £14.60. First up it comes in a spray bottle which is just so handy. You can either spray it directly on your face or spray it onto a cotton pad before use. It has a lovely mandarin scent, is alcohol free and left my face feeling really fresh after cleansing and ready for the next step. Each product is numbered so you can easily follow the number guide until you get in a bit of a routine

Herbalife SKIN review

If you are worried about lines and wrinkles, they have you covered for products on that side of things. There is the Line Minimizing Serum £43.45, Firming Eye Gel £30.30 and also the Replenishing Night Cream £32.65. The serum is designed to improve skins softness, radiance and luminosity as well reduce the signs of ageing. It is packed with chestnut seed extracts and peptides to aid this. For me I loved the feel of this yet again on my skin. The night cream was another stand out for me, Herbalife claim that skin looks smoother and softer in just seven days. I put this to the test and used it for seven days straight. My face does indeed look much better skin wise and feels soft too, that I’m pretty scared to stop using it!

Herbalife SKIN Clay mask & berry Scrub Review

The firming eye gel is as it suggests to tighten the skin around the eye area, at the moment I’m having trouble with the skin around my eyes being very dry so I haven’t been using this as much yet. However I have tried out the Hydrating Eye Cream £30.30, this is infused with vitamin B3, C&E, Aloe Vera, Macadamia nut oil and cucumber extract. I was intrigued by the fact it has cucumber extract as you always see the token beauty shot with cucumber on your eyes, so surely this could only be a good thing? Again the cream feels nice to apply and helped to keep my eyes hydrated.

Herbalife SKIN Clay Mask & Berry Scrub Review

The treatment products in the range include an Instant Berry Scrub £15.05 and a Purifying Mint Clay mask £16.35. The scrub has coconut derived cleansing ingredients, exfoliating beads and blueberry seeds to help reveal a vibrant and bright complexion. It’s a light gel formula and you can see the beads straight away. After using this my skin looked brighter and felt lovely and soft. The clay mask has a mint smell which is derived from the spearmint oil and combined with rosemary leaf it removes dirt and absorbs excess oil. I absolutely love a clay mask and this didn’t disappoint either. The only thing for me is my skin is quite dry so I wouldn’t use this one as much as you may if you have oiler skin.

How To Wear A Black Blazer Six Ways

February 25, 2015

One of the most classic pieces in my wardrobe is the black blazer. My trusty old favourite was a little black jacket I had from Zara. However when moving house recently I threw away a lot of clothes that just didn’t fit anymore and sadly this was one of them. So the hunt was on again for a black blazer and that’s when Warehouse’s longline black blazer came into my life.

This Warehouse blazer is a perfect wardrobe essential. I love the longline cut, being taller it’s hard to find something that isn’t always riding up so this was perfect. I also like the three-quarter length sleeves and the light fabric, which makes it an ideal blazer for Spring/Summer and even now I can wear it under a coat for extra warmth. Just to show how much an essential a black blazer is I have styled it up six different ways; Sports Luxe, Casual Work, Dinner Date, Day Casual, Day To Night & Party Time.

6 ways to wear a black blazer

Sports Luxe – I am not usually one for a sporty look, but when I put this together I was pretty much sold on wearing it everyday! Here I am wearing the Warehouse blazer with an Agi & Sam x Evian tee, the comfiest Forever 21 joggers and Saint Laurent sneakers.

Casual Work – Denim is a big trend this season. I have teamed the blazer with a Forever 21 denim shirt dress, tights and F&F patent heels (now on sale!).

Dinner Date – You can’t beat teaming a nice dress with a black blazer. This outfit is an ASOS dress and New Look black court shoes.

Day Casual – A blazer works so well for dressing down too. Wear it with denims and a white tee with ease. I am wearing Topshop white t-shirt, ASOS ridley jeans, H&M necklace and ASH boots.

Day To Night – This look is easy to master with a blazer. Wear sequins for day with a tee like this one from Fashion Union and the blazer just helps to tone it down slightly. Black jeans from ASOS and the shoes are silver metallic flats from Forever 21.

Party Time – An ideal piece to accompany a party outfit. Here I am wearing the Warehouse blazer with a Missguided t-shirt and rose gold metallic mini skirt and a pair of New Look suede black court shoes.
