Met Ball – Best & Worst!

May 7, 2013

The Met Ball took place last night in New York and celebrities were seen wearing some awesome and not so awesome fashion creations! The theme this year was ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’, so there was spikes, safety pins and other ideas..

Here are some of my favourites and some of the WTF’s!

Ok so my favourite was definitely Cara Delevingne, this sleek and elegant number with a touch of spike by Burberry was the winner in my eyes. Paired with gothic makeup and jewels it fits the theme perfectly.

Dakota Fanning looked beautiful in this Rodarte dress complete with angel wings! I love the elegance of the black but it is perfect for the event with its sequin detailing in the wings and sheer panels.

Taylor Swift opted for a similar black and gold theme in this J Mendel creation. I love the detailing and the hair and make-up again is spot on. Well done Swifty!

Nina Dobrev wowed in a Monique Lhuillier custom-made black tulle dress and Rupert Sanderson shoes. I love this!

Emma Watson, again another black number…but I think she looks great in this Prabal Gurung dress although not very punk!

Some of those took punk very seriously….see Madonna’s own interpretation, tartan -check, studs – check, spikes- check, fishnets-check, pink shoes errr check….

The one that went wrong…Beyonce LOVELY Beyonce, I’m not sure what this is but I don’t like it! This Givenchy couture skirt and thigh high boots, plus belt and gloves is just way too busy for me!

Finally Kim Kardashian, now this Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci dress could have been ok it’s the gloves and matching heels that are pretty much WTF not to mention would this pattern really be the dress of  choice for a heavily pregnant lady?
