L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Glycolic Peel Pads

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Glycolic Peel Pads Review - UK Beauty Blog The LDN Diaries

I’m starting to feel like all the skincare I’m loving comes in pad form, such as the Starskin Overnight Pads I recently introduced you to or some of my trusty favourites like the Nip & Fab Glycolic Pads. Whilst I’m on the latter, I recently tried out the new glycolic peel pads from L’Oreal Paris which have a 9.6% glycolic complex and so when compared with the Nip & Fab pads which have only 2.8% glycolic acid, it is a real significant difference and not one you get available at your drugstore. This sort of percentage is usually found in salon products. So I was really excited to try these out.

The peel pads are designed to essentially exfoliate your skin at night, which is the perfect time for cell renewal, by removing dead skin cells and resurfacing the skin as well as helping to reduce wrinkles and even out skin tone. This ultimately results in a smoother and brighter skin in morning and as each day goes on. L’Oreal suggest using these daily, something I was a bit apprehensive about as I would normally use a product like this about 2-3 times a week rather than everyday. But they do say they are gentle enough to do this and the pads have allantoin and panthenol listed as ingredients which helps to soothe and moisturise skin, which would help keep any sensitivity to a minimum.

I use glycolic products at home and I have also experienced it from facials, so my skin is really used to using it, but if you aren’t then I would say build it up slowly rather than going straight into the deep end with a daily pad. The pads are suitable for all skin types though which is great.

I absolutely love glycolic acid, it’s one of those ingredients that I see results from the most on my skin and these were no exception. In fact I was pretty blown away by these. After one use my skin felt so soft, it felt moisturised too, not dry in the slightest and the smoothness, was very exciting. I couldn’t wait to use one the next evening.

They reminded me of the effect the Dr Dennis Gross Beta Pads gave, although with those you have two separate wipes, where as with these it is just one wipe and they are much more affordable. I also noticed my wrinkles above my eyebrows looked reduced, so I can only imagine how they might look with continuous use. I mean I’m not hoping for miracle botox but already they looked better to me.

So how do you use them? There are two sides, one is a more heavy exfoliation than the other. Just wipe it across your face avoiding the lip and eye area, also avoid any eczema if you have it on your face as it will sting like hell! I have this under my lip and I have more than once before got glycolic near this and it’s really not comfortable. However with these I was careful and it was easy to avoid it. That’s it really, don’t rinse it off, let the product soak in and apply a serum and moisturiser afterwards. Also be sure to apply SPF the next day as when using glycolic acid products in your routine you need to make sure you use SPF.

If you find your skin looking dull and dry, it could be a build up of dead skin cells, so I would definitely recommend grabbing these.

I had never tried any L’Oreal Paris skincare before and I’m now totally hooked on the peel pads, they have definitely become a new favourite over my trusty Nip & Fab pads.

L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Glycolic Peel Pads are £22.49 for 30 pads and available now.
