Hush, Mayfair

July 30, 2014

So as I previously mentioned we had a farewell lunch for Michelle on Saturday at Hush in Mayfair. Nestled behind busy Oxford Street and down a pretty secret little lane you will find the gorgeous courtyard area and wonderful restaurant that is Hush. I had been to Hush before for a few press days so I was really excited to go back, as the food always looked amazing. Plus I really liked the sound of the Mars Bar cheesecake on the dessert menu, who could resist that!?

We were seated outside which was lovely as it was such a hot day, one of the hottest of the year it felt like. We ordered a few spritzers, perfect for the sunshine and enjoyed them over some bread and olives as we had a catch-up. These were delicious and I’m going to try making one at home, it was Sauvignon Blanc mixed with Limoncello, Citrus Bitters and Soda Water, very refreshing!

Moving straight onto the mains, Michelle and I went for the burger which came on a massive silver tray complete with salad and knife right in the heart of it! I also got some fries on the side, there is always room for fries.Danny ordered the spiced lentils with baby aubergines and went for a side of chopped salad with avocado.

Before dessert we asked to be moved inside as it was getting a little hot out, which was completely fine and they were happy to accommodate. Finally it was time for the Mars Bar cheesecake and it didn’t disappoint, it was a mixture of chocolate, caramel and well cheesecake! It was much bigger than I thought it would be, so my eyes were definitely bigger than my belly, I wasn’t so keen on the praline ice-cream that came with it, but the cheesecake was very good. Danny chose the Blood Orange sorbet which I tried and it was really nice, very tangy!

Hush is great for a weekend breakfast or lunch in the courtyard, or go for drinks during the week at their cocktail bar! For more info visit hush.co.uk.

I love Hush and when you’re in Lancashire Court you feel like you’ve left London!
