Falling For Guerlain

This year Guerlain has become one of my favourite make-up brands and with their new fall collection it has made me love it even more.

The collection is very lip focused and has some beautiful lip additions, with velvet liquid lipsticks and also new matte KISS KISS lipsticks. The fall range also focuses on the perfect skin and therefore introduces new base products including foundation, an eye primer and a blurring face primer. Here are my thoughts on the new range.

Lingerie De Peau Aqua Nude Foundation

Whenever I try a new foundation I get such high hopes on it being the one, which are pretty much dashed within a few seconds of application. I have two foundations I really like, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and Burberry Cashmere Foundation that was until Guerlain released Lingerie De Peau Aqua Nude. I am so excited by this foundation and how amazing it is for my skin. If you have dehydrated or drier skin I think you will love it as much as I do. The foundation is infused with water and smooths, plumps and hydrates the skin all in one go. It has a good coverage and really gives my skin, that skin like appearance.

Another thing I love about this foundation is the colour. Trying a new foundation for the first time can be tricky with the colour, but I tried one colour and it was perfect. 02N is a neutral colour, that’s slightly darker than my natural skin colour but perfect when I wear tan, which I do regularly. I feel like the colour has lifted my face overall and the foundation doesn’t cling to any dry areas at all. It comes in three tones rosy, neutral and golden and in nine shades with an SPF 20 also included. This is now my everyday foundation and I absolutely love it.

Lingerie De Peau Cushion Foundation

This is a hydrating an anti-fatigue touch-up foundation in a cushion compact. I have never really been a fan of cushion products, but this is very handy for touch-ups throughout the day. Given that the Aqua Nude foundation is pretty long-lasting, I don’t often touch-up, but this can be ideal for under the eye area that might need a lift later in the day and any parts around the mouth and chin where it can fade. The cushion foundation is available in four shades and has SPF 25.

Blurring Active Base

Guerlian Blurring Active Base has a more mattifying effect for the skin than my favourite Guerlain L’or 24 carat gold primer. The primer smooths and blurs to improve the appearance of pores and any shine. For me personally, I don’t struggle with pores or any shine issues, but I can tell this is a great primer. It really does blur and mattify the skin and would be a great base for foundation.

KISS KISS Velvet Matte Lip Colour

These velvet matte lipsticks are so beautiful and are each presented in a gold case. You instantly feel like it is the sort of lipstick a Bond girl would own. The colours here are Spicy Burgundy, Caliente Beige and Wild Plum. I love all three of these colours and the lipsticks themselves are matte but hydrating on application. They go on so smooth and give the lips a plump appearance. Aptly named KISS KISS for their kissable lip appearance. I found these stayed on very well even after eating.

KISS KISS Lip Palettes

There are also two contouring lip palettes in the range for Autumn. Passionate Kiss has three red shades and a base shade. It also has a foam brush and a double ended brush for application. These are designed to enhance the lips, define the lip contour and the colours all work together brilliantly. The palettes could also be the perfect shade transitions for creating an ombre lip effect. The second palette is nude pinks and is named Romantic Kiss.

Eye-Stay Primer

This is a really soft and smooth eye primer that when applied to the eyelids my eyeshadow went on with ease. It comes in one universal shade and blends with your skin tone whilst it brightens the colour applied. I really liked this eye primer, it just was easy to use and worked well into my daily routine.

Intense Liquid Matte Lipstick

You may have seen these on my Insta-stories recently as they have become a staple into my make-up bag. I absolutely love the texture of these liquid lips. They don’t feel drying on the lips at all and the colour pay off is fab. Tempting Rose is a rose-pink colour that’s great for everyday and here I am wearing Addictive Burgundy which is the perfect colour for Autumn. I love a red lip and I like how deep red this is. They feel comfortable to wear throughout the day, they are a velvet liquid lip but with a matte finish. I wouldn’t say they are incredibly long-lasting but because they aren’t drying on the lips they are easy to top up.
