After a hard nights shopping and fashion show watching, a nice meal was needed at Westfield.
My friend and I headed to The Meat and Wine Co. I had always passed by but never actually been here myself. With lots of meat and wine, I can’t really see why I had never been before.
We hadn’t booked so it was great to see them accommodate us so quickly as soon as we walked in and we were took upstairs to the dining room. Downstairs there is a bar with lots of comfy looking seats and a cosy atmosphere. However we went upstairs where we were greeted by the hostess who took us to our seats. Surrounding us were so many wine bottles, all lined up against the walls behind glass panels. The restaurant was pretty full for being 10pm and as I looked around I could see steaks, skewers of meat and burgers. Excellent.
We ordered a bottle of Chile Sauvignon Blanc and some bread with vinegar. We both then had cheese burgers for the main. When they arrived I didn’t think there was many chips, but being so thick there was more than enough. The burger tasted great, packed with meat, cheese and the usual vegetables.
Staying till around midnight we were the last in the restaurant to which they didn’t even throw us out, but I figured it was time to leave, can’t have those poor staff waiting for us. The highlight of the meal though was a waiter called Sean who was ever so friendly and after a brief chat about the Olympics, we got him to do the mobot! A lovely meal and a great restaurant, I will be back to try steak and desserts this time.
