Chanel recently wowed audiences at Paris Fashion Week with their Spring Summer collection on a wind turbine catwalk and are hoping their new choice of celebrity to promote Chanel No.5 will have the same effect.
Brad Pitt has been chosen as the first man ever in its 91 year history to promote the well-known Chanel fragrance.
Following in the footsteps of Marilyn Monroe and Nicole Kidman, the actor was paid just over £4 million to front the campaign. Wowza!
Chanel released a number of teaser trailers just yesterday. The full advert will be unveiled on October 15th 12:01am Paris time.
Brad teases us by asking in a sultry voice:
‘Are you going somewhere?‘
‘What’s the mystery?‘
and my favourite ‘Do you feel lucky?‘
Chanel made a statement about their choice and said: “We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level.”
I think Brad Pitt will be a good change and I am looking forward to seeing the full advert, although as the brand has always been represented by a women it is interesting to see how it will be received.
